Gday

I would not contact my embassy instead to be on the safe side I would approach the consulate. The consulate is closer and advice or documents can be obtained through it. Less hassle than travel all the way to Bangkok.

OP, I recommend calling your Embassy for some advice on the matter.
Theoretically, you can return to your home Country on an expired Passport if it's a direct flight, in which case, if not, an emergency travel document may be simpler to obtain.
Your overstay will be none of their concern.

Sorry for your loss.

A generalization, not even theoretically true for US any longer. There are no non-stop flights to the US anyway and  airline won't board you even if there were. The process is to get an ermargency travel document or new passport.

U.S. citizens will not be allowed to use their expired U.S. passport for direct return to the United States after June 30, 2022.

Do not understand any of that. He should....

1. Buy a flight ticket

2. Get to Bkk airport

3. Pay fine 20k and receive appropriate ban

4. Board plane.

If he obtains a new passport this passport will have a new passport number.

Should purchase fight ticket after new passport issued.

He doesn't require a new passport.

His current one is valid.

Seems weird that I got a confused emoji on my above comment.

I'm confused why I got a confused emoji.

The OP says 'have to renew my passport: does the renewal at my Embassy'

First up I didn't give the emoji.

It's the OP that is confused.

Despite folk asking if his passport is in fact expired no advice was forthcoming.

Finally he posted that pp is not expired hence he does not require a pp renewal.

I did not reply to you, why are thinking my emoji comment was directed at you?

Are we all expected to read every comment on threads that we comment on.

Don’t worry about the dullards posting here who lack reading comprehension skills or the ability to understand even simple statements or questions.

90 percent  of the posts I make on this site get the confused mark. Most  of it is trolling behavior.

Agree, but if they don't understand they should ask for more information not just send a stupid emoji.

I feel that the confused emoji's should be banned.

I can understand a confused emoji then a comment but just a confused emoji without comment is antagonising.

I reckon I'd still just be an advanced member but with all the unnecessary confused emoji's I receive over the years they've shot me up to Platinum, approaching Ruby.

Your embassy will help you out with a new passeport. No problem. They don't will inform Thai immigration!

Could any agent facilitate the departure and help to avoid the black listing? Probably yes, but I can't give you an address. Call one in Pattaya and discuss. But be prepared to pay some "thanks so much" money 💵. Good 🍀 luck

Heck NO... why would you do that... oh wait... in order to stay relevant comes to mind.

Mate, yesterday the wife was at work, the kids are home, Manly is playing Parramatta, NRL.

I haven't got time to read every comment, I read the OP, then generally glace over some comment written and make comment.

Anyway, I find most comments on AN threads are members bickering.

You can correct me if I am wrong but it is my understanding that Immigration do not need a valid travel document to execute a deportation order, the destination would have to be a country where the deportee has citizenship.

Someone walking about on significant overstay is a deportaion waiting to happen.

The OP stated very clearly that he does not intend to return to Thailand.

My comment was  at the one who suggested using an agent. After all, what the OP wants to do isn't my problem
