Is the roadwork related to the new airport in Sankamphaeng? 

 

Any idea how long it will be going on and when the airport might be scheduled to open?

All the recent construction is related to upgrading the infrastructure including cnx and the new Lanna airport which is expected to be built in the Buakkhang area close to banti.

Nobody knows including the planners. They still have to acquire the property and clear out the land of at least three villages in the area and then at least seven years to complete the construction. We might be dead and gone before the first plane lands.

Not related to “new” airport.  But step one in the project to eliminate traffic signals on outer ring road 121. 
 

next will come rebuild of 121/1006 (Bor Sang). Then 106/121 Seraphi.
