Iran has deployed drones heading for Israel, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in what could be claimed as an act of retaliation, but risks triggering WW3.

 

The move by Iran follows its pledge to retaliate for an assault on its consulate in Syria on the 1st of April, an attack it attributes to Israel, which resulted in the death of several Iranian commanders.

 

The IDF revealed that the journey for the drones could take several hours, covering a distance of approximately 1,100 miles (1,800 kilometres).

 

Officials have confirmed that Israeli forces are on high alert and are “monitoring all targets” in anticipation of potential threats.

 

 

This announcement came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel had activated its “defensive systems” in response to the threats.

 

What Israel know about the situation so far

Suicide Drone/UAV – 6-9+ hours

 

The different types will be launched to arrive together.

On the way, they have to pass at least 4 defence systems, starting with warships, Patriot systems stationed in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and American bases in the Middle East, Israeli defence systems and Israeli fighter jets.

BUT, expect to hear about additional launches from Syria and Yemen, and Lebanon.

A decade and a half ago Jimmy Carter said Israel had about 123 nuclear warheads in its arsenal. Best thing for Israel could be to nuke Iran before it's too late. A small country like Israel can only have a first-strike nuclear doctrine unless it equips itself with a submarine deterrent.

This is either just a symbolic retaliation for Israel bombing its Syrian Embassy and that will be the end of hostilities , or  this is a decoy for a bigger attack where Iran would fire proper missiles .

   This is a great excuse to Israel to bomb Irans nuclear facility

Difficult. Israelis now no longer allowed to fly over Saudi Arabia (or Irak) I think. They would need to use missiles. I've read the Iranians had scattered their "nuclear facilities", especially whichever nuclear warheads they may already have produced. So no easy option apart from armageddon.

You forgot the USA, who have been active in more wars, and killed more "enemy" in more countries than all those you listed above, have the most weapons and sell the most weapons.

 

If war breaks out I will enlist to fight for Thailand. Take on the Burmese again. We have a few scores to settle.

Domestically, Iran cannot be seen to be doing nothing. That the US and Israel knew about the attack in advance, and that the mode is slow and relatively easy to intercept makes me think that you are correct, and that Iran gave advanced warnings to minimise collateral damage.

IMO that headline is incorrect. It should be "Israel potentially triggers World War 3" which it did when it attacked Iranian sovereign territory in Damascus, which IMO was a declaration of war.
