Here is a photo of beach road pedestrian walkway in the afternoon. It's like a scorching hot desert, not fit for anyone to enjoy.

Not only this time of year.......The beach walkway has pretty much no people there sunrise to sunset 365 days a year except festival days......

They made the beach unusable during daylight hours...

I disagree.  Look at that motorbike - he has a nice clear run all along the pavement without any pesky pedestrians getting in his way.  Putting trees up could ruin his enjoyment and he might end up having to use one of the 3 lanes available on the road instead.

And the motorcycles are on the pedestrian walkway everyday and night, which is illegal. The Police know it and do nothing about it. In fact, that driver drove right past the Police station on the walkway.

This is exactly what the people in Pattaya City Hall want, basically nobody to use the new walkway during daylight hours. This is supposed to be the way to attract tourists and residents. Amazing Thailand.

Bangkok is planting 2 millions trees  and making 130 new parks by 2030. See here:

How about Pattaya planting 100K trees by 2030 and start by planting 2,000 shade trees on Pattaya beach? How about making some new parks with trees? Are the city politicians listening? How about starting to provide some benefits to the city inhabitants with all those property taxes City Hall is collecting?

Enhancing green spaces is crucial to making the city more livable, especially to attract expatriates

Well, you don't want to block the view from the hotel balconies.  Agree, and not the most practical choice if shade is desired.   We only go to the surf locally, after the noon hour, then the beach is shaded.   No hotel views to be blocked though.  Both local bays with surf access have the same trees, I think.

Palm tree is the worse to give shade. Jomtien beach has different kind, don't know the name. They are on sandy area and give excellent shade.

Also, Nha Trang, Vietnam, has similar 6 mile beach but 1000x better thanks to NO Motor Vessels of any kind within 800 meters of shore line!

It's so quiet.... and clean.

Pattaya & Jomtien are noisy slums... even AIR is polluted by Para Cliders, or what the hell they are? Pulled by speed boats.

There are some really nice beaches with trees, Past Sattahip Nang Rom, Nang Ram, plus beach nearest to Ban Phe Rayong, must be 5-10km stretch

Anyone else notice how good the water looks off Pattaya beach lately. Also, they might have overdone the number of palm trees as it's getting quite crowded in places (good for stopping scooters though)

I'm noticing the sidewalk and the beach looks clean.
