Revolut is great.  Multiple accounts in any currency you like.  Instant creation of electronic debit cards and link to any currency.  Make 'burner' cards for one-time online purchases.

Add a card to Google Wallet.

So to answer the question - tap my phone. 😄😄

TrueMoney has also blocked Revolut on April 24.

Same here.

Not a chance will I use any kind of app on my phone that links to my credit or debit accounts.

I spent 24 years in IT.  Part of maintaining a server farm is understanding and implementing server and operating system security.  Granted, OSs like Android and iOS were just coming on the scene when I took early retirement, but you could easily see that these OSs were literally built to harvest user data and they were not built to be "locked down" by the end-user seeking security. Then you have to trust developers and whatever proprietary code they are using in their applications - like banking applications.

Buggy non-secure OSs on your phone + questionable financial applications = good-bye money.

No thanks.

My foreign card was blocked on the PEA app. I need to pay at the 7-11 now.

Thanks for info.

Seems like foreign cards are frowned upon everywhere in the country now. What could be the reason?

Likely to do with the new income tax regs, less work for them to check money being brought in... Force every to transfer to a Thai bank account !

As member @eisfeld wrote earlier, "Both Visa and Mastercard have cross-border transaction fees or different interregional interchange rates", which means this is a cost cutting exercise at a time when the Baht is quite weak so those charges are expensive.

How do you pay at 7-Eleven if you don't have cash and no TrueMoney app?

I thought 7-11 took QR code payments off a mobile phone? Haven't been in one for a while so could be wrong?

I'm thinking it has something to do with global CBDC's on the way. Increased scrutiny of bank accounts (especially in the Usa), new taxes, countries are hoarding gold at record rates, etc. It's above my pay grade, so just guessing.

They accept cards for over 200 baht, foreign credit cards works there still

the only reason to use true money app linked with credit card is to circumvent their not accepting cards for purchases below 200 baht

And to pay for 7-Eleven delivery, as I like to pay with app, not with cash..

The other shops doesn't have the toasted Ham & Cheese sandwich 😎

Very valid point.

Hence I always ensure there is cash in the sky rocket before entering.

Went into my local 7 this morning to buy some prickly heat for me boys..... walked out with ham cheese toasties as well !

Yes, easy after you have been approved with ID etc. Download it to your phone from your Appstore and try it.
