I believe one of the bloggers requested it not that long ago. 

 

And it actually works quite well.  It's those ads that appear that are doing my head in.  The small square ones that appear on the right hand side opposite the arrow. 

 

Surprised I haven't put an axe thru my phone yet!

They really need to make the ads less obtrusive or what happens is many people like me use ad blockers and it's no issue

I've just been looking at the site that has all these blockers... Holy hell.  Any recommendations?  Or are they all of a muchness?

I'm with the op, it's an unnecessary eyesore. On the phone, it keeps getting in the way of the niks so constantly having to shift the screen. Besides, just tapping top of the screen fast-scrolls-to-top anyway, and just as easy on the laptop. Good that it works for some, but it needs to be disable-able. Nice to have such a life that something as trivial as this can really put a crimp in one's day. 😋

What I think is a badly thought out change is combining Thailand news with local news. The local news is undersubscribed and irrelevant unless you live in the area. Now you need to trawl through all the local news. I guess the new owners are making their mark for no reason.

I just tried this arrow from my mobile phone. I find it useful but I think it could be made physically smaller and less obtrusive. It looks like a 1 cm box size now, perhaps 6 mm is possible?

I used to use it when it was on the right hand side of the screen. It's inconvenient on the left and obscures the little star to go to last seen post. Being right handed like the majority of humans, I prefer things like that on the right ( like it used to be ), and it's easier for me to use the mouse on the slider on the right hand side than move the cursor to the left side of the screen

It doesn't put a crimp in my day, but it's annoying when I have to move the list so I can click on the star. Somehow it always covers the star.

100% agree, but it seems a few posters like it and complained as they seem to find scrolling too much effort and not tech minded enough to know the following shortcuts.

> Command +  (to scroll to top of page on Mac / or program their own)

> Alt PageUp (to scroll to top of page on PC / or program their own)

> Tap top of page nr status bar (to scroll to top of page on iPhone)

> Tap top of page left of status bar(to scroll to top of page on android)

 

 

 

Thus, it is superfluous and its also in a really daft position...

I used to like it too, when it was smaller and on the right hand side of the page. Now it's just annoying, obscuring and I don't use it, as it's easier to scroll up using the slider button.

Now it is covering the Notification button. If I have notifications I can read any of them, but I can only read one. When I go back to Notifications the up arrow is blocking it and I cannot get rid of it.

 

Can this be fixed once and for all time. Either put it somewhere where it is not blocking anything and leave it alone, or simply remove it.

 

And please stop the little boy who keeps updating things,

 

There is an old engineering which says, "While it works. leave it alone". It worked well for years and since the Thaiger has taken over the forum gets updated at any time day or night when somebody feels like that they want to change it.
