    President-elect Donald Trump spoke with Russia's President Vladimir Putin in a post-election phone call, reportedly telling him not to escalate the Ukraine war, according to The Washington Post.

    Trump reportedly reminded Putin about "Washington's sizeable military presence in Europe," the Post's Sunday report said. The call was made from his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

    The pair reportedly discussed the goal of peace on the European continent, and Trump said he would look for a follow-up conversation to discuss a "resolution of Ukraine's war."

    I must say, as much as I am displeased by Trump's election win, I am also amused at the perspective of a spat between Putin and Trump, the latter trying to get a "deal" from Putin, getting humiliated by Putin and as a consequence sending even more firepower into Ukraine than Zelenskyy requests.

    Trump trying his best (or his worst - it's the same) to end the war in 24h will be amusing.

    Not to escalate is good for Donald. But is it good for Vladimir? I doubt so. The only chance for Vladimir to win is to roll out his impressive, neatly shaved huge nuclear balls. But this only could be possible in the process of uncontrolled escalation which is the natural excuse for it. Without such excuse, Vladimir would look as an aggressor, not a victim of American "hidden intervention" as he named it in the recent Valdai forum.

    Kremlin says that call never happened.

    Which part of “Russia attacks Estonia” did you not understand? A missile struck an apartment building in Kiev which is in Ukraine, not Estonia. The Estonian ambassador happened to be one of the many residents in this apartment building.

     

    If you don’t view the headline as downright wrong, there is nothing much to say.

    Seems like you don’t understand how the system works. Most news outlets get their information from mainly Reuters and/or AFP and then report it in their own media. They do not do their own research or journalism.
