I tend to agree that thjis was the plan. But I think Trump will pursue speedy resolution because of the elections. If that is rejected and Trump fails to get a stay of proceedings, and is then blokced from being a candidtate, then the proverbial will hit the fan. When the verdict is overturned, then the fan will be smashed over.  If Trumpo wins a stay and the verdict is over-turned before November - Trump will decimate Biden.  This aint gonna end well for the Dems however it ends.

Quinnipiac University survey found that even among Trump supporters, 6% said they would be less likely to vote for him if he was convicted. Did you know that Trump was convicted in a kangaroo court by a partisan system in a partisan jurisdiction (95% Dem voters) by a Dem Judge.

Trump can stay on the ballot. 2. he can be elected POTUS. 3. he can vote (not in NY)  but felons are allowed to vote in Florida. end of story. As I have posted previously, it was a HUGE mistake for defense to deny the Stormy tryst. The convicted felon could have gotten all weepy saying how worried he was that public knowledge would hurt his 3rd wife. The jury might have bought that (probable) lie and it might have resulted in acquittal or a hung jury.

 

Instead, it seems the jury found her so believable that prosecution did not even need to call Karen McDougal.

 

You should really lay off the continual "TDS" epithets and accusations. Those of us who oppose the convicted felon have quite good reasons for disliking him, both for his convictions and his alleged crimes, which on the surface look like slam dunks.

 

Try to subvert democracy? Bad guy.

 

Foment a terrorist attack on the US Capitol? Bad guy.

 

Steal highly classified documents that jeopardize national security and the identities of foreign clandestine intelligence assets? Bad guy.

 

Those are concrete reasons why I do not like him. Toss in his constant whining and his everyday childishness, and he is never going to win my favor nor support. His constant hyperbole and overuse of superlatives is just irritating, but the crimes and willful ignorance of what the US is meant to stand for is what sets me against him.
