I've been using the Tinder app for about a week now and I've had a bit of a change of heart about the possibility dating Ladyboys in Thailand when I arrive. They also appear to have a broad and open-minded perspective on life, which I find appealing. Is this something others have found as well?

Many also seem to have a strong sense of self and authenticity. This honesty is refreshing, but I wonder if it’s real, a general trait or if I’ve just been lucky with the ones I've encountered. What do you think?

Are there cultural or societal challenges that I should be aware of? I want to make sure I’m not overlooking anything really important.

They are Ladyboys. I find them a bit freaky to be honest. I wouldn’t do one myself but the people I have spoke to (3 people) reckon they are very skillful in the sack.

i've never dated a ladyboy, it's not my thing, but i have a couple of transgender friends, one i've known since before transition. your observations are correct, as with men and women there are transgender that work in the sex industry and can be unpleasant characters. but equally, as with men and women many transgender people are just normal folks getting on with their lives. my transgender friends are well educated, one studied to master level abroad, they have high level professional careers. indeed, they are probably better educated and smarter than many of the transphobic bigoted individuals on this site. live and let live.
