Cheapest source for monthly purchase of Xatral (Alfuzosin) - BPH

My BPH is managed just fine with a daily Alfuzosin tablet.  I buy 30 tablets from whatever pharmacy happens to be near me,and the price does seem to vary from pharmacy to pharmacy.  But since it's a medication that I need every month, it would make more sense to source the cheapest supplier in Thailand, preferably a supplier who can post the medicine to a regional address in Thailand.

 

Can someone suggest a reliable supplier of Alfuzosin?  Thanks

Last time I ordered Xatral was about a year ago (had operation and don't take anymore).

The price incl. shipment for two boxes of 30 pills was 1935 Baht.

So just under 1000 for one box.

1. Have you been buying Xatral each time? As there are less expensive generic equivalents as follows:

 

Afzoline - Thai made. Manufacturer Unison, distributor Medline

 

Flotral - Indian made (Sun Phamra)
 

Flotral runs 700 - 800 baht per 30 tabs, Azoline should be less.

 

2. Whatever the brand, getting it shipped to oyu monthly will entail monthly cout=rier fees. A cheaper alternative  woud be to buy in bulk, say 6 month supply at a time, in which distributor might be willing to sell f-directly to you.  For that matter, a  local pharmacy might be willing ti order it for you if you agree to buy at least a few months supply at once.

 

If you will be in Bangkok anytime, I suggest you contact Unison and see if you can purchase Afzoline directly from them, this will be the wholesale price. They will not sell you just 1 month but 6-12 months, they might.

 

Otherwise I suggest you compare prices for Afzoline and Flotral at these online sources and get a few months at a time from whichever is cheaper:

Have you considered going to your local government hospital. I saw the Urologist at mine and he prescribed Flotral and Finax for me on my last visit. Total cost including 390 baht for doctors fee and 3 months (90 tablets of each) was 1850 baht. Prior to that I was on Doxazosin (Pencor 2) which was costing me 50 baht for 10 pills from a private pharmacy in town but on seeing the urologist first time round he told me that in the hospital pharmacy they would cost me just 100 baht for a box of 100 pills which is a world of difference.

Further to your bulk buy recommendation, Sheryl, it would be advisable to refrigerate the medication to slow down any potential for degradation.

Thanks for your comments Sheryl.  Actually, I was buying Xatral when I was in Laos because that was all that the pharmacy had...  I will have to check out your links.  I am currently in Pattaya sorting out my retirement visa, so I might check up on the price to buy 6 months supply of a generic.

I get mine prescribed at Siriraj government hospital. About 75 baht to see the urologist and 300 baht for a pack of 30 tablets. Last visit I got a six month supply.
