What about gas and electricty prices?

Electric last month was £57, not seen the gas bill but central heating is off so it will be low.

Wild prices for spirits. House vodka will be 400 baht or so per bottle, a litre of Sangsom the same.

99 baht beer, small bottles or large?

Last I looked, draft Chang kegs were 2950 baht for 30 litres. But 10, get one free, and they also contributed towards a wage for a promo girl. Plus loaned you towers. So draft Chang costs around 45 baht per pint.

Because it's a nice place filled with people who are not poor, very few pensioners unless they are rich; and you can see plenty of nice HiSo ladies having lunch with their friends.

I pay 250 GBP a month in Bangkok, for a 50 sq/m condo, with a really nice pool and a decent gym (both of which are on the same floor as my condo unit).   My building is a 3 min walk to a BTS stop on the Sukhumvit line, so I can be sitting in D'Ark at Emquartier within 20 mins or less

What condo is it?

Just swings and roundabouts depending on what ticks your box in UK vs Thailand.

Been done to death...point out one plus point from either country and all the negatives soon pointed out.

Dairy and beer may be more expensive in Thailand but no *council tax* pays quite a lot of that higher Thai costing on dairy/beer.

Even better than the $3 craft pints in US, but only during happy hour

Cheap beer and great food and sure I would like the near year round cool weather.

So, what kind of visa may I apply for to go live in “Dundee”. Marry one of the local porpoises?

Now post a photo of you.

Short odds these girls wouldn't give you a second look.

Fine. I would not give any gal  over 7 stone a first look.

I know all Scottish lassies are not disgusting fatbodies I met one in 2010 watching FIFA final 2010 in Chiang Mai.

I'm not bothered about the Scottish issue. There's just no need for that type of post aimed at any nationality. Rise above, Captain, rise above.

Im guessing you can make your own assessment, and if he’s thick, why would you accept his opinion?

Personal insults are rarely helpful.  Repeating the answer would have allowed him to realise his opportunity to improve, whereas now he will be deliberately thrawn.

That must be the cheapest Guinness in Town too.

There's a little Thai caff over the road from there that does large bottles for 90, otherwise there's very few places in central Bangkok that do large bottles at any price. 140 upwards is the norm outside of happy hour for small bottles.

Aye cheap - I happen to know that Chang costs around 52 baht a pint ( cost price ) unless the company is doing one of their occasional wild promotions.

Anyway, my Scottish local is now £1.80 a pint for bitter. No doubt some nutter will spend hours on the Internet trying to prove me wrong.

Just read an item about cost of living in Australia.

Your looking at AUD 12 for one of these refreshers

Anorexic. Serious risk of getting lacerated hips.

I suppose it would make a change, if one was bonking cooked spaghetti.
