Driving Licence Motorcycle/car > Buy/sell Motorcycle/car > OTHER - opening a bank account.

This is my experience with DIY Extension at Jomtien! For over 20 years I've done this year in year out. My objective is to listen and watch what is needed after each application same day I go home and prepare the package for the following year making a note top of package what remaining docs are needed down to making sure each copies are clear and signed. My objective or game is to see if i can make it perfect be within the first 5 people and out the door by 9am!

Since I have been doing the income of 800,000, my expiration date is 20th of Feb, I go on the 20th of January each year. Get there at 7am and wait until they open at 8:30 am, reason so early by the time it is ready to open the line of people is out to the road. Like each year especially now that they redesign the outside there are no marking as to Q after the information door so unless you are the first couple of people standing right in front those coming after know where the line starts and ends people everywhere as expected words are exchanged then you got a few who play dumb and try to pretend they don't know and stand in front of the Q hoping no one notices!🤣

Year after year I'm either first or 3rd by the time my paperwork package is run through today girl gives me thumbs up smile " papa perfect " given Q #1, when door opens I go to window 8, sit down and wait same kid year after year never a problem. I give respect to everyone even when they don't deserve it why? we are guest they got us by the balls. Living here like it or not you get use to your balls being squeezed!. When he is ready I say Sawasdee Krup and provide a Wai, hand him my package and Passport he quickly like a machine runs through flips through the package checking off stuff? like last year he starts to xerox pages off my passport. Note my passport is fairly new doesn't have many pages used plus in my package therefore I have already xerox every single page, provided the copies of the TM30, TM47, copy of housebook every page, wife I.D. all signed by her so I'm not sure why he is making additional copies?

He starts to put everything back neatly so I'm thinking I breaking a record here it is only 8:36am, pay the 1900 baht come back in two days to pick up passport. But hell NO, he tells me I want to see the Housebook? I said I don't have it, for 20 years I've just provided copies he gives me a blank look, guess he let it pass, next he tells me I need to update my bank book? since using the bankbook years back my routine has always been 4:15 pm go to branch before closing make a 1,000 baht deposit then get a certification for 100 baht the balance! This has been acceptable ( I thought within 24 hours ) to this kid never a concern but now " you need to update you doing renewal today 20th, need to update today ".

I'm getting hot? thinking do I need to make another deposit being only 8:40am wait until bank open update the book then make a copy of page! I leave go around the corner half a dozen waiting for bank to open now putting on my thinking cap! hell I'm just going to put the book in the machine and update and hope I get date 20/1/26 which is what happened, back to make a copy sign it, back to counter 8 with finger crossed.

He runs through everything again putting everything in sequence then he hands me like 6 pages to signed saying in a tone you should have signed them but these are the copies he made himself earlier. When I was signing they were copies he already had sign in my original package.

Success! another year in the Land of Smile, the pressure on my balls are released! My whole life I get a kick out of messing with people head slapping them around what goes around comes around LOL!

This chap has been there 8 years or so...he delights in asking for stuff never previously asked for as I have found out many times during my 12 years of extensions...I queried last year as to why he was asking for some paperwork never needed previously his reply....we have new boss.....BS he,s just an awkward so and so.

I believe it! I've been doing for 20 years use to be with lady prior to him slowly she was moved out. I use to make small talk Thai chit chat even with him beginning great. A few years back emergency had to go home he did me a favor rushed the application called my cell afternoon said all done pick up.

Asking for stuff personally I sense already there in my package is a power trip doesn't like perfect it is the only explanation I could come up with. The longer he has been there the more demanding bolder. Next year I'm going to present the same package, xerox house book but bring it with me if asked, regarding bank statement still get letter on 19th 4:30pm. Morning of 20th before I arrive stop first at bank and update the book on machine with 20th fate updated. Arrive at Immigration Q up when informations open have clerk review package issue a number. Now visa assistance office should be open get a copy of last page bankbook with 20th update sign and insert with other pages package completed for 2027.

As soon as main office opens let's see what he wants now?😀
