Georgealbert
July 1, 2024, at approximately 04:30, the Chale Radio Center received a report of a fire at the Ramkhamhaeng Airport Rail Link station area on Ramkhamhaeng Road in Suan Luang, Bangkok. Firefighters from the Huamark Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene to find a fire engulfing nearby shops and a convenience store adjacent to the station's staircase. The firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze, and fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Airport Rail Link's official page posted a notice informing passengers of the incident: "Dear passengers, due to a fire near Ramkhamhaeng station, this station is temporarily closed for safety reasons. Other stations remain open as usual. Station staff will assist passengers in using alternative public transportation. We are supporting the fire department at the scene and monitoring the situation. The station will reopen once it is safe. We apologize for any inconvenience caused." Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt visited the scene and confirmed that the station itself was not damaged by the fire. However, it remains closed to ensure passenger safety. He advised passengers to use nearby stations, Huamark and Makkasan, temporarily. https://workpointnews.com/around/news/NEPXEQF

Haven't been there in ages, but that's sad. Means something caught fire in shop that has staff 24/7 yet they still couldn't save it. Wonder what caught fire to spread so quickly... 1

Georgealbert
This video shows the start of the fire. It was seen by the 7/11 staff, it was not in their shop, but possibly in one of the covered, open air stalls opposite.
