Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin asserted yesterday that his administration has made significant progress in its first year, countering criticisms from opposition parties and some dissatisfied members of the Pheu Thai Party. The Thai premier yesterday, July 9, emphasised that more accomplishments will become evident over time.

Addressing claims that the government had yet to deliver tangible results, the Bangkok-born PM stated his readiness to outline the administration’s achievements during a Pheu Thai Party meeting held at 3pm yesterday.

Acknowledging communication issues, PM Srettha noted that public awareness of the government’s progress might be lacking due to insufficient dissemination of information.

“We have done a lot and many ministerial projects, made with much hard work, are being implemented.”

The Bangkok-born prime minister highlighted several key achievements, including an increase in foreign direct investment, improved prices for agricultural produce, a moratorium on farmers’ debts, an enhanced education quality for youth, an increase in the daily minimum wage, the enactment of a law allowing same-sex marriage, upgrades to the 30-baht universal healthcare services, intensified drug suppression efforts.

The 62 year old PM also stressed the ongoing nature of the government’s initiatives, stressing that results will gradually become apparent to the public in due time, reported The Nation.

“We are implementing several other projects… the results will gradually become apparent, such as foreign investments and free-trade agreements.”

  • this guy lies more than joe biden.

Ok, dudes! In reality, the total amount spared on all TV-channels for his speech was 40 seconds. As they already that was far too much to cover it all.

this guy lies more than joe biden.

Did he mention all their work for Thaksin? They must have spent a lot of time to convince everybody involved to have the criminal finally run around free in Thailand and talking too much about politics.

And let's not forget about the untransparent 10k scam. Somehow, they promise it will happen, but not exactly when and how and where the money comes from and many other details. Where are the details? Where will the money come from and who will receive all those administrative costs which I am sure will happen?

Is it still called lying if someone can't remember what he was supposed to say?

Allowing same sex marriage is the only point of progress many have seen. The rest is hyperbole. He is the do nothing PM.

The result may be his gradual disappearance from the public in due time .

He does not talk that much anymore lately ...

May be he has realized that his influence on the Pheu Thai party has resulted in many voters turning their back on them ...

Better for everybody ( except the MFP ) if he just shuts up ...

achimenet not one

the people of Thailand did not vote for you, have you consdered why

do you really think your comical stupid grin will impress anyone - you are a clown, the people voted for Pita, a young highly educated person - willing to take Thailand forward but instead we have a smiley buffoon

If the government had achieved anything, Then why didn't he say what they were. In short they haven't done anything. All empty words.

OH oh, sorry they did achieve one thing They kept Thaksin out of prison!

Message to the PM, if you have nothing to say best to say nothing.

I hope you are right. But I guess his relative silence has more to do with his fear about his survival as a free man in Thailand.

There are lots of people who don't like him. And if he talks too much and shows everybody that he is above the law then I am sure some of his enemies will work harder to make his life miserable.

He wants to be free in Thailand, that is what motivates whatever he does - at least IMHO.

Not sure I'd call it progress. Not that I care if gay people get married, it's just that it wasn't a pressing issue for the majority of the population. So yes- they've done nothing of significance.

Zero

That is unfair.

There have been many achievements, such as

- Thailand is now the global hub of promised/imaginary hubs,

- Thai economy is declining faster than previously,

- An estimated 1 million Thais will be dropping out of school his year,

- Household debt at a record high,

- High number of factories closing, etc.

- The promise to tax all expats has lead to an exodus of expats.

And have not put the former unelected soldier PM who led an illegal coup in 2014 into prison.

With his tolerant OK for the new tax plans, he has managed to significantly worsen the future lives of an estimated 200K-500K foreigners living in Thailand.

He's been elevated to Sainthood now, it's where coup leaders go.

forgot to mention: making colorful socks with business attire a cool trend. and how to travel to Europe frequently at government expense
