As the title says, maybe I missed the news but I am wondering whatever happened to  the swiss guy who owned the elephant sanctuary and was deeply brewed in a public relations nightmare over his unfortunate behavior with the thai Dr. I thought he was supposed to  be kicked out of Thailand. Any updates would be appreciated.

he was granted full citizenship and given 100 rai of prime farm land. 

He's going through the court system ,which is very slow ,my question is

what happened to the Elephants and is the place still open ?
