Pattaya City achieves 99.41 score in anti-corruption assessment

Pattaya City achieved a significant milestone by securing a score of 99.41 in the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). This assessment evaluates ethical practices and transparency among local administrative organisations across Thailand.

 

Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet proudly shared the results for the fiscal year 2024, highlighting the comprehensive evaluation by the NACC. A total of 8,325 government agencies, including municipalities, provincial administrative organisations, subdistrict administrative organisations, state enterprises, ministries, and departments, were scrutinised to assess their adherence to ethical standards and transparency in public service delivery.

 

Pattaya City’s impressive ITA score places it at the AA (excellent) level among local administrative organisations. This achievement reflects the city’s dedication to maintaining transparency and high standards of work. The mayor attributed this success to the collective efforts of executives and officers who have diligently served the public throughout the past fiscal year.

 

Over the years, Pattaya City has shown significant improvement in its ITA scores. In 2018, the city scored 79.64, followed by a dip to 61.58 in 2019 and further down to 55.19 in 2020. However, the city bounced back with a score of 80.52 in 2021, 98.94 last year, and now a record-breaking 99.41.

Mayor Poramese stated that transparency remains a priority during his tenure.

The NACC’s evaluation criteria include work performance from January to June, feedback from service users, and on-site inspections.

In a message to the citizens, Mayor Poramese expressed gratitude to all sectors of Pattaya City and highlighted the importance of morality and transparency. The city continues to address project challenges and build public trust, reported Pattaya News.

 

In related news, the NACC resolved to address the issue of criminal records for individuals found innocent or not prosecuted, proposing legal reforms and submitting recommendations to the Cabinet for consideration. During a recent meeting, the NACC decided to enhance the management of criminal records, aiming to improve efficiency and accuracy.

If you can't find it, it could mean 2 things:

1. There is really  no corruption

2. They are just better at hiding it than in other places.

Two factors to bear in mind when reading such a fake and misleading post. 

 

1. The police force that exists in Thailand today (written 2010) is for all intents and purposes the same one that was built by Pol. Gen. Phao Sriyanond in the 1950s. . . . It took on paramilitary functions through new special units, including the border police. It ran the drug trade, carried out abductions and killings with impunity, and was used as a political base for Phao and his associates. Successive attempts to reform the police, particularly from the 1970s onwards, have all met with failure despite almost universal acknowledgment that something must be done.

 

2. The Anti-Corruption Organization of Thailand (ACT) is one of the most feeble and ineffective of all the tools Prayuth and now Srettha have used to deceive the people into believing that they are fighting corruption. Who was the last high level authority, in the police, immigration, the army, or the active administration they arrested, charged, tried convicted, and sent to prison? Nobody. Zero. Nunca. Nada. Why? Because they have a mandate from the beginning to do the very opposite. To protect the elite, the super wealthy who are guilty, those that are connected, and those who are in power. Just think Dark Tao. Just think Red Bull. Look at Thaksin. The list goes on, and on, and on. Only the most naive amongst us believe they or ACT secretary-general Nitiphan Prachuabmoh are sincere about this. 

 

It barely matters. These guys are above the law. Any and all laws. The only time they are arrested is when it becomes big news, or it is reported internationally, and Thailand gets a ton of egg on it's face. And even then, it normally does not result in a conviction. Very, very few current (not former) police, immigration, customs, cabinet officials, army officials, or administration officials are arrested here, tried, convicted and imprisoned.

This is just a big misunderstanding. When corruption is so prevalent and open everywhere, it just becomes impossible to see. Therefore, the table have turned, and now they see honesty as the deviating factor and suddenly believe that´s today´s modern corruption.

Now wait a minute. The survey does not say worldwide. So perhaps out of every city in Thailand, Pattaya scored such a high rating. Meaning, God help us, that the rest of Thailand has even more corruption than Pattaya
