A massage therapist was lured into a cassava field, assaulted, and robbed by an assailant, with the victim hiding in the grass until dawn before seeking help. The incident occurred yesterday, August 6, at 8.05am, with the victim filing a complaint at Nong Prue Police Station.

 

The 45 year old victim, Ya (pseudonym), arrived at the police station in a battered state, her face swollen and clothes torn. She claimed she was lured into a secluded area, attacked, and robbed of her cash and mobile phone.

 

Ya recounted her ordeal. She had recently moved to Pattaya to work as a massage therapist. Around 4am, while sitting and drinking at Jomtien Beach, a Thai man approached her, pretending to be friendly. He then concocted a story about a foreigner requesting a massage at a nearby residence, convincing her to accompany him on his motorcycle sidecar.

 

Ya explained that she trusted the man and got on the motorcycle, hoping to earn some money before returning home. However, after travelling a short distance, the sidecar’s tyre burst. Sensing something was amiss, she asked the man if the route was correct. The man insisted that the nearby houses belonged to foreigners.

 

After getting back on the motorcycle, the man sped up despite the flat tyre, eventually turning into a dark cassava field. Unable to see clearly, Ya realised she was in danger. The man then punched her in the face, assaulted her, and snatched her handbag containing approximately 4,000 baht and a Vivo mobile phone. Fighting for her life, Ya escaped and hid in the grass, fearing the man would return.

 

“I hid until dawn, then sought help from a foreign jogger. If I hadn’t escaped, I might have been killed or worse.”

 

Following the attack, Nong Prue’s investigation team took Ya to the crime scene in Soi 18, Thung Klom Tan Man, about 800 metres from the main road. Signs of the motorcycle’s path were evident, and the police found the suspect’s shoes and a condom Ya had been carrying. A donation receipt for a coffin was also found, which Ya had kept after praying for a better life in Pattaya for herself and her family.

 

The police collected all evidence from the scene, including latent fingerprints, and are reviewing CCTV footage along the escape route to track down the assailant, reported KhaoSod.

She recently moved to Pattaya as a massage therapist [cough] to seek a better life... must've been rough where she came from.

Always amazes me that some women actually will still leave to another place with someone they just met. Subtracting hookers of course. Ted Bundy killed over 35 women that "trusted" him because he looked normal and talked nice. Very simple. If you're attracted to a man you see that talks nice to you, arrange to meet him another day, in public, to find out more. If it goes okay then, arrange another date somewhere else, public, to find out find out even more. Let them do the talking. Continue to date in public until you feel you can trust him enough to go further, if you want to. This alone will curtail many rapes, robberies and murders. Her having  a condom on her person is never a good thing, and shows intent.
