The problem is that he seems old and tired, with no capacity to react to having a different - and younger - opponent.

 

Unless Trump does something different - or there is a Black Swan event - the election won't be close.

A month is a long time in politics. But no doubt the tide will turn and Kamala will come up against some scandal or roadblocks and then we can see what her and Tim are made of.

If Trump has any sense he'll just let her sabotage herself, and put out lots of ads showing the border crisis and the Ukraine war, both on her watch.

 

Sometimes it's better to say nothing new and let the other side do all the work. After all, it's free publicity every time she attacks him.

 

Also, not responding to her attacks would drive her crazy ( even more than already ).

With any luck the Ukraine war will end with Zelensky having to beg for terms. Then Trump can put out lots of ads saying how she colluded to waste billions of taxpayer $ on a war that was lost. Let's see how she can turn that into something positive.

A lot of these MAGA influencers seem like fair-weather fans. Way too early to jump ship.

The debates should be interesting. I doubt any of them will end in TKO's. The second and third events may not even happen.

He should refuse to take part unless she agrees to one with Fox. He has more to lose in a debate than she does, so if he can get her to refuse then he can blame her for not going to hers.

Having seen Trump in his last couple of press meetings and rallies he is genuinely looking and sounding like he is out of it,

 

I saw him in one just a couple of days ago, and he sounded and looked the same as always. He never says anything worthwhile ( except when pointing out how useless Biden/ Harris is ), anyway, so why would that change now?

 

People won't vote for him because of his speeches- they will vote for him because they still despise Washington, IMO.

I think you need to upgrade your awareness social media is having massive effects on everything nowadays and currently in particular on politics.

Twitter and the millions of posters have enormous influence and there are dedicated paid influencers from all sides of the political spectrum in general spouting misinformation and terminalogical inexactitudes at one and another.

 

On a positive note Twitter invariably has the "news" as it happens. Generally quicker than any other media sources out there.

But the voters who will decide the election (the fence sitters I think) don't go to rallies.

AFAIK the cannon fodder is on the Russian side, where Putin, Shoigu and Gerasimov send poorly trained and equipped troops in human waves.
