Help! Thai car in Laos
We have arrived over the border at Nong Khai into Vientiane with our Thai pickup. we were advised that we could only keep it here 15 days before renewing the stay agreement further. We wish to travel north but not sure where to do the car extension. Can someone tell us the name and location of relevant offices please . thank you Rod -

Or, you could just go for the option of getting the visa by booking a dentist's or doctor's appointment. And then another one if or when needed. Which doesn't cost anything (at least not for the appointment itself). -

Its Happening - Law to Tax Overseas Income Now in Progress
For now, the law regarding taxation of worldwide income is just a draft. for the time being we have to pay tax if we stay in Thailand more than 180 days a year and only on the money we bring into Thailand. My question is: a. on the Thai tax return form there is no space to fill in the amount that you have already paid (double taxation agreement) b. If you were able to state the amount that has already been paid in the tax form, this would be a completely different result in calculating tax than if you were to fill in the tax form without including what you have already paid. If there is a treaty and you have already paid tax but you only get the official documents later in the year how is this treated? Do you either pay the full amount first or can you only claim it back later in the year when you get the official documents from your home country? If I am considered as a tax resident, I also expect to be treated equally and not have to pay double prices in a park or be charged a foreigner price in a hospital.- 1

Are the Baht busses ruining their own business?
Strange dialogue: - How is the Baht bus (red) price guaranteed? I don't believe that. - I've used bolt maybe 50 times, never once had any discussion re changing the quote. I have no doubt that people call use the app to book a journey then after getting in the vehicle they change the destination. The quote is based on maps / data / routes in the BOLT computer systems. And the roads etc., within the quote are shown on the customers smartphone. I've heard several foreigners and Thais say after the journey starts they tell the driver to take a different route. The progress of the vehicle is shown on a master screen in the BOLT operations office. Thus may well cause a change in pricing. Don't forget that the drivers 'commission' is based on all the above. If he ends up using more gasoline then is he not entitled to a bigger 'commission?' - My 21 year old grand daughter didn't respond with hostility, that's not how she responds or communicates, not her nature, never. And no she's not on an ego trip, it was just a simple polite and not hostile comment, many folks would do the same. -

Expatriate income is finite. What the government takes is not spent into the economy assisting family, local businesses, hospitals, aesthetic clinic, education, parks, entertainment It just disappears I don't even have permeant residency or even resident visa extension. I report to police every 90 days.- 1
