I do not laugh, I think it is pretty sad what the UK has become (along with the rest of the world) any one bringing children into this world now needs their heads testing

Very true. It is sad to see the state the UK & the USA is in right now. Couple of months ago was in Melbourne, there too the situation is not really rosy - at least in the Melbourne CBD area.

ugh having brats is worse than having dogs, you don't need either of them to have. life worth living. If thick as mince Kamala gets elected in November there will be a lot more to laugh about.

Stupidity runs in cycles, at the moment it is ultra liberal, one has to wait for the backlash and the stupidity meter will turn far right, it's the little pause in between the two extremes where, for a short time, there is hope for humanity. Yes laughter is better than weeping, if you can still laugh it shows you don't take it seriously. Thailand seems to be a rather stable sensible alternative at the moment, let's hope they don't copy the West too much.

Really? First of all, life without kids does not necessarily mean its a life online. TBH, people with kids are more prone to have an online life, when their kids are grown-up and they start to think that their parents are a burden! - that is the most saddest period.

Of course, as in everything, exceptions are there.

Never had kids - never regretted!

I sat on my lounge chair watching the TV news

I started to watch and laugh out loudly , I went into hysterics .

I was watching the ABC News

A man who was a judge or politician in the UK started talking in his broad pompous upper class British accent with his toffee nose in the air

"We will arrest anyone protesting against immigration" he said ,his nose in the air and anyone who tries to protest against the immigrants " and we will take them the full extent of the law "

A old woman comes on she said her husband was at the protest and arrested and jailed for 13 months ,I stated to laugh

Another scene some young Pakistani youths lighting the British flag in fire , the policeman said they won't be arrested as they are just misunderstood

Another news item comes on some bloke with a hard to understand pommy accent comes on from some Northern town in the UK

He said he is "out of work" ,every factory he applies to has people who are migrants as managers and they  won't employ him.

I start to laugh at the World

Another scene comes on , it's in Belfast ,the police are in the middle of two groups one carrying British flags with signs no immigration and the other with Irish flags and Palestine flags and a old guy with a purple wig and lipstick and hairy arms saying he was a former IRA soldier and supports more  immigration & shouting out racist to the other side carrying British flags !

I then watch American news and some democrat politician says he supports defunding the military and if he wins he wants the superpower status of the USA to finish and defund all weapons and open the borders

I look on as shows some place Florida or somewhere the police station has tents inside with refugees and food kitchen and Medical room

The reporter walks across the road to the park, some American national homeless people are begging ,I start to laugh

Another scene came on ,a transgender man was getting support from some council in Australia to read poems to elderly people and receive funding to put make up on them , a man is on a tv current affairs show saying he went to see his dementia father of 85yo to find out he had make up on him!

In Australia a Muslim group that wants sharia law will stand for politics and are absolutely sure they will now win senate seats at the next election , a gay woman with short pink hair says she will vote for them and the LGBT community even though they oppose sharia law

In Melbourne Australia, gangs of a certain nationality are going into jewellery stores and going snatch and grabs ,the government has banned the media from indentify they are of African background so it's 8 males only the description

"It could offend them " says the Anti discrimination commissioner ,if we identify their culture background

I start to laugh at the down fall of the World and stupidity it has become

I'm so happy I'm not young anymore

Laugh laugh laugh

It's finished

Around 1998 I was in Joories Inn hotel, Pentonville road.most of the staff were Eastern European including management

I asked a room maid how she got the job...

We were recruited in our country was her reply..

The jobs were not even advertised in England

I don't feel like laughing about all that <deleted>.

In part I blame the media and "the internet". They want conflict and polarized groups. They don't want accepted real facts and people talking about facts.

And then there are of course all those stupid people.

I don't have much hope that any of that will get much better anytime soon.

Do you remember the older generation saying the same thing about you and your generation  when you were young ?

Felton I find your comment chilling.

Do you really think that the U.S. will be better or taken more seriously with Kamala as President?    At least TRUMP has built something, run businesses, and understands things like Real-Life issues.

Kamala has lived off the gratuity of lovers and people who really only want their own puppet in place.  Consider that she has NEVER run for a position.  The only way that OBAMA could get her this far was to have her appointed to the positions.

She has no real platform other than to agree with what sounds good at this moment.

Can you see her sitting down with Xi or other political powers and actually be taken seriously with her laughing and talking word salad?

How long before the open border comes to bite the U.S. in the assets with terrorists or just too many people to afford to keep?

BTW, It is the Dem policies that are in line with Venezuela.  National price controls is a socialist idea that has failed.

Theres nobody here that has a strong case for kamala as president. Democrats could nominate a sock puppet and get everyone to rally around it as long as trump doesnt win

The western world has become too soft.  People today have been given everything and feel entitled.  Instead of organizations fighting for the rights or people living in the copuntry they argue about things that have no real bearing on their lives.

When was the last time there was a protest about crime in Chicago or NYC?  When was the last time people argued to help find housing for the military or for jobs for people?  Consider that all the major cities, states and countries tht have progressive ideologies are losing population.

Students protest against Israel and then can not understand why, when they go to intern at different companies, they are not getting hired.

No I dont laugh about the world today, anything but, I have children and grandchildren!

Can I ask what you are doing about it then?

Millions of people have children, but I don't see them doing anything about it. It's always up to other people to do something.

I don't have any family descendants that I care about, so I have an excuse for not doing anything.

Re the OP. I don't laugh, because it's so bad it's gone past the laughing stage. Now it's just a case of watching the west slowly rotate down the toilet bowl of history into oblivion.

Likewise in NZ. The rot set in when they banned Enid Blyton books in libraries despite them being very popular( I equate teachers and librarians as being in the same boat ).

Nope.

I shed a tear for the insanity that seems to rein supreme.  It's like someone opened the gates of Hell, and hatred and avarice has flooded the lands, and instead of seeking higher ground, the majority dive in an begin to swim with glee and rage.
I shed a tear for man's inhumanity towards man.
I shed a tear for those under the jack-boots of their own governments.
I shed a tear for the lies used to sway the most ignorant.

I shed a tear for those who are so easily deceived.
I shed a tear for the youth of nations who will be conscripted to fight and die for corporate greed.
I shed a tear for the coming of a world war.
I shed a tear for our children, grand-children, and future generations who may never be.

That'll give them something to laugh about with their comrades after she has left the room.

IMO she epitomises the end of civilisation as we know it.

Do you  have a link to that story ?

Again, only this comes up in a websearch

UK: Teenagers held for attempting to burn Union jack, 'Allahu Akbar' chant

Three teenagers were taken in custody in UK’s Twickenham for allegedly attempting to burn a Union Jack flag while yelling ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Allahu Akbar.

Two 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old were taken into custody on charges of inciting racial hatred and racially aggravated criminal damage after they attempted to set fire to a flag that had been taken from outside a bar.
