The owner of a coffee shop in the central province of Lopburi condemned a pervy Thai man for using the cafe’s free WiFi to watch pornography and harass female customers. He reportedly spent long periods at the cafe without buying anything.

The cafe owner shared a video of the man in a Facebook group for Lopburi residents on September 5. The man in the video appeared to be between 50 and 60 years old, dressed entirely in dark blue clothing. In the footage, he was seen watching porn on his mobile phone while inside the cafe.

“Warning for everyone! I don’t mean to cause harm but what happened is completely inappropriate. It occurred today (September 5) at around 3pm. This man comes to the cafe every day for the free WiFi and never buys anything.

“I hadn’t noticed him until today. He stayed for a very long time and there were many children present. This is a public place and our cafe is also located within a temple area. I have already warned him about his behaviour.”

The owner shared another video showing her approaching the man and instructing him not to repeat his actions. She also noted that most of her customers were university students and children.

According to the cafe owner, the man claimed that he did not intend to watch pornography in public. He said he scrolled through his social media feed and accidentally came across the video, which he then watched. The owner added that the man bought a drink for the first time on the day he was caught.

The owner later revealed to Channel 7 that the man not only watched porn in the cafe but also sexually harassed female customers by staring at them.

Many women in the comments section shared that they encountered this man before in other coffee shops in the area, although they did not provide specific details about his behaviour.

The owner decided not to take legal action against the man but expressed hope that he would not repeat his actions, either in her cafe or elsewhere.

Best to download all the porn you can. Judging by the general climate it'll all be made illegal in the not too distant future. England already introduced some age check provision, Denmark and even Holland changed their laws. Feminist in the white house soon maybe, and they all hate porn.

I'm not taking any chances, everything's going to hard drive.

Illegal

Until it can be taxed

A coffee shop is a private business and the owner has every right to ask anyone who occupies space within it, much less uses the Wi-Fi, to make a purchase. In many coffee shops in the US now they're asking someone to make a purchase every hour, as people used to come and sit in the coffee shop for half a day.

The porn thing is a whole different topic. Kick the creep out. No big deal. See ya!

Are you a woman? As a woman, have you ever been stared at by a man in a public place? Didn’t think so. I’m not a woman either, therefore I’m willing to listen to a woman if she says she’s been made to feel uncomfortable or threatened, and I’ll take her word for it. Myself not having a clue what it’s like being a woman. Meantime, please take your indignation and faux “male privilege” elsewhere.

they stare at me all the time so i stare back..its called eye contact.

As isolated behavior perhaps...  but he was also...

.. leering at girls and women, which can be an act of sexual harassment.

.. This was not a one off, he was noticed in 'other cafes' behaving the same.

I suspect the behavior was more an issue than what he was watching, but perhaps the what he was watching was the final straw.

Erm... thats a bit naive, even though porn is officially banned in Thailand, so are many thing, gambling etc... yet porn is as rife and accessible here as it is anywhere else... Even guys in Thai Parliament have been caught watching porn !!!..

I'm not sure what you are getting at with the pillow.

---------

Perhaps this is a storm in a tea-cup and the cafe owner over-reacted and is rather woke, as you pointed out... Or, this is an issue of concern and young girls in the area are at risk...

...  Had the news been different and his guy sexually assaults a young student on her way home from the cafe... many would argue that the warning signals were there and why did no one do something about this...

Its kind of a no-win situation - but it seems the cafe owner did the right thing, she wants to protect the other customers and she has every right to, its her own shop.

how do you conflate sexual harassment with staring? shows you just how uptight todays young are. so

woke. snowflakes with no or little self-esteem. i blame social media, it has crippled a whole generation..

What is the problem? A bar is free an if they give free internet it is up to them. That the man did not spend anything should be told by the man in charge that consumptions are obliged or leave. But he did not do that. Policy should be changed, but you can't control what people ae doing on their cellphone

If he had money he could rent his own show and take part

If this is the new "woke" standard,

Let me know when culture goes back to sleep.

This s not new or woke , its never been acceptable to stare at people

How do we know that he was actually "leering"- we only have her word for it.

Did he get banned in the other cafes? Were the police called? How many times was he "noticed" in other cafe's? The OP doesn't answer any of those relevant questions.

Sounds like LOS is going down the perpetually offended route as already entrenched in western countries, IMO.

He was sitting in a cafe watching porn and staring at females , that is very concerning behaviour , sounds like a potential rapist looking for victims .

The authorities need to monitor this person , sounds like a sex offender , its not normal behaviour to watch porn in public and stare at people .

   He's needs a psychiatric assessment

Don't 50% of males look at porn?

what?, he is conducting an illegal act (porn is illegal in thailand duh!) in a public place.    best thing to do is humiliate the guy in public (as they have done)  i dont give a shlt if u watch porn but have the decency to watch at home in private.

porn Illegal in the land of sex?? Oh yes I forgot as long as the envelopes ar being given nobody sees or knows anything. Never heard of privacy? It is no concern what he is watching on his cellphone as long as only watch it by himself. Nobody needs to look what another is doing on or with his phone. Or would you like that that people comment if you talk in public with your gig on messenger?

As porn is forbidden in Thailand, you can't have access to "youporn" and similar websites.

So it's quite obvious he didn't watch porn.

All rubbish👍

There are still sites you can find here. Your not trying hard enough! 1000 baht and I will post a link! 🤣
