BANGKOK (NNT) - The Gumball 3000 supercar rally is being hosted in Thailand from September 17 to 20, featuring over 100 luxury supercars.

Driven by more than 220 global celebrities, the convoy will journey through 15 provinces: Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun.

A key event will take place at CentralWorld in Bangkok on September 17, sporting a supercar exhibition and live music. Another highlight will be a charity football match on Koh Panyee's iconic floating football field in Phang Nga province on September 19.

In addition to its focus on luxury cars, the Gumball 3000 rally is expected to benefit Thailand's tourism sector and support local economies by channeling income to communities along the route.

The event provides an opportunity to attract high-end tourists and further enhance Thailand's reputation as a host for international events.

Both participants and spectators are urged to observe traffic regulations to ensure a safe and smooth experience.

Yes, the rally commences in HCMC then passing through Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, and then finishing in Singapore.

Pretty much a gumball rally everyday up here in the boonies

It would be interesting to see how many of them finish, and how many drop out for overheating, mechanical issues, etc.

I'm not a fan of Top Gear, but I do find it amusing when they drive a $zillion supercar and it craps out in the middle of the show.

Sadly, I'm going to be 2 days late to catch the Thailand leg.  It would be fun to watch.

Edit:  BTW, kudos to webfact for publicizing the event before it happens.  We usually hear about what we just missed.

It will be interesting to see how many of these cars survive the trip.

They will have a lot of lunatics to deal with

cant even imagine the tie up at Poi Pet

Hummers are generally soft skinned.  Military use to drape their body armour over the door for protection.

Now this is cool. Armoured and heavy as hell... MRAP
