Which is exactly what a forum is for, though I’m left cynical of the source poster, as are many others when I read the response, it seems…

There was a burst of fake posters but I think they were surprised how easily identifiable they were and shunted away. Still a couple hanging in there I think. Hi Conan. The use of AI made for some pretty crappy weird articles but I feel that is better now.  The Soapbox section is fun and dominating in posts now - though  if not into politics may seem a pain. The quizzes are fun too. Seems like the Community Pub has a lot less posts and topics. Particularly since Bob left the building. Pity Owl went  as his post was a highlight but he does continue on the other site. 

I must say i check it out  much less often ,just really skip through it in the morning ,it's like a security website I used to visit years ago ,used to be very busy ,and I got a lot of information from there ,called Wilders security forums ,now its dead as a doornail , 

 

There are a lot of lets say silly posts on here now ,which can be off putting,

Well one thing hasn't changed. Nobody agrees on anything. Some say it has become even more boring than before, others say the forum has been purged of its trolls,... Hmmm... Well. Thx for your thoughts, guys.

The flurry of fake posts by 'newbies' was the first change, but that seems to have reduced after it was outed by members.

 

But I'm much less active now that the Trump vs Harris battle dominates the forum.

I haven't seen anything from B P to know that.

 

If I hadn't read a while back that it happened I wouldn't know. Thought they might combine the forums, but apparently not.

 

The changes I hoped for didn't happen. Still the same place.

IMO it's still exactly the same as before, and the trolls have not departed.

The problem with purging people is the forum becomes more boring, happened with another forum, so boring now, anyone interesting has left or been removed, but moderators have less work so a success for them 👍

That happened on the Thai section of Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree forum. Got sold, new load of woke mods chased all the interesting posters away and it became completely useless as a source of information for tourists going to LOS.

 

Got closed down years ago- well done mods.

Plenty of posts, but too boring. Since all the interesting threads were the ones about P4P, bars and ladyboys, now they don't feature much, if at all, it's too boring to bother, though I will drop in now and then, just in case.

Seems to me they are far more attuned to potential defamatory content -- posts have been removed, topics locked, and entire topics removed if leaning in that direction.

That's so true. I haven't been around for a couple of months and I feel like the forum is as lively as it used to. Before you had a lot of funny posts in the Pub. Can't find much of those anymore. And some popular posters are gone as well. Like the guy would was constantly posting how he was getting drunk all the time. Can't remember his name... Anyways. Thx

Happened again -- entire topic removed. Some people on here don't realize that a private website does not accord "freedom of speech" and the powers-that-be seem far less willing than before to tolerate even possible defamatory content.
