How many here on the Farang Pub hope to die in Thailand?

Recommended Posts

If I just die, I do not care, and hopefully I die with my boots on.

I want to die the place where it is less complications, and that will be my orign country, not Thailand.

My ashes can be spread in the sea

Thailand, after over a decade of non-stop life here, without leaving, is still the place to die....for me.

Thought you disappeared to Japan for a stint? Anyway, one minute you're talking about buying made-in-Japan air-cons, the next dying. Make up your mind, dude!

It may sound easier here--certainly not for loved ones where temple affairs can go on for days--but they do also try to keep people alive you know. What is perceived to be easier here is the general Buddhist outlook on life, that there will be others until one gets it right and/or one reaches nirvana. However, is that all based on fact or opinion? Best to do one's best in this one methinks in case this is your only shot.

I moved back this April, now only visiting. I have not cut my ties to my home country, so I can choose, and we will make a new base back home so my wife get her dual citizenship and retirement.

I believe is maybe a better word, you do not know for sure, but still maybe 30 - 40 years away if I reach the family standard.

That's a given, as I have no intention of leaving, or sitting on a plane internationally.   Unless I take the Orient Express to somewhere, I'm crappin' out here.

Actually saw it buzz by the park one day.  Since running late, as scheduled to pass by at night time.

You ask a lot of stupid questions Kannika, not the brightest son.

Yesterday you asked me why the doctor would be hesitant to treat a 80yo with terminal Cancer

I didn't answer you because it's self explanatory

You then ask a guy living in his home country how he knows he will die  there

Unfortunately  people with your intelligence are picked for COURT JURIES to make decisions on people lives🙄

And YOU start some of the most stupid posts on AN, together with the other GG.

Did Hummin say that he was living in his home country?

And I have NEVER served on Jury service.

Where I am when I die is of little consequence to me.

Where I'm buried is however.

I don't much like the idea of burial in a foreign land.

I plan on being cremated, and if possible having my ashes returned to my homeland for burial.

Not a chance I want to die here. I will go back to the UK and enjoy my final days there. I like the cold and walking in the autumn leaves to me is a far better way to go than sweating like a pig. Full time here to 67, then part time for a while and then full time UK in a nice conservatory watching the snow.

I am far too worried about the cost of end of life here too.

As a matter of interest anyone know if a pensioner on UK state pension would be able to pay for stage 4 cancer pain relief ? I have a friend here nearing this situation

I noticed a lot of posts about dying ,passing away etc lately .

And the adverts are about Wills and funeral services lol

This Topic is not about dying.

This Topic is about living the remaining years of one's life in Thailand.

There is a difference.

Why? It's isn't as if you'll be aware of where your ashes are.

I have reconsidered, and also I have realized that trying to live the rest of my life with Japanese schoolgirls would be too lonely for me.

Also, they might invite their boyfriends over for parties, which definitely would be far too stressful.

Now, I recently come to my senses.

And now, I know where it is that I want to live until my last gasp.

Japan, for me, is now viable only as a PLAN B.

Agreed. I always wanted to live out the rest of my in LOS, and die there. It was the biggest blow of my life when I couldn't. I only go on this forum to keep a connection with LOS alive.

While I love LOS, if I had the money it'd be Japan every time.

It's the world capital of Anime, which I love.

It's still traditional in part.

It's still civilised as it hasn't invited the alien hordes in.

I'd like to live in a rural community where they are polite to one another, and have consideration for others, unlike the undisciplined thugs that blight western countries.

Schoolgirls are the wrong path to travel, because they are girls and as such change their minds every five minutes. Commitment is an unknown quality. A more mature Japanese lady is superior, even if only as a friend with benefits; perhaps a career woman looking for a spot of fun on the side.

Unlike in western countries, they apparently don't turn into land whales soon as they turn 18, and continue to be feminine. Win win.
