Military service. :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:. Which wars did he fight in? :cheesy::cheesy:.

Since when does military service have to include wars?  Are all the ex-army, navy and air force servicemen who were fortunate enough not to have to go to war denied the honour of their military service being recognised?

I hate to break it to you, and do so as gently as I can; The Duchy of Cornwall (William/Prince of Wales) and The Duchy of Lancaster (Charles/His Majesty The King) both pay taxes (voluntarily) at comme

He pays VAT on polish the same as anyone else!

do you have a link to confirm that, it would be helpful to support your comments or it's just your opinion

No link is necessary to know that the royal household is not exempted from VAT.

Use your common sense and go look at the internet and see how the Civil List is funded.  Compare the Civil List funding to a salary.

Household staff will carry out his cleaning requirements. Charles pays the household staff from the Civil List and they buy stuff from the high street where VAT is charged.  Therefore Charles pays VAT!

There has been no Civil List since 2012.

Yes, military service.  Six years in the RAF, initially as a flight lieutenant.

Was that not Randy Andy? Another man full of medals and bling. We have absolutely nothing in common, so this debate is now ended, and there won't be any more.

He was an Anglo Saxon king Of most of of what became England. (minor boundary changes!)

Since 1603 (Union of the crowns) when the Scots took over via James V1 of Scotland and became James 1 of England.

Great Britain appeared in 1707 with the Acts of Union!

Correct. Are you saying that Harold should be referred to as being Anglo-Saxon, not English. If you are I don't agree.

Sovereign Grant Act 2011 superseded the Civil List Act 1837 and it all gets way too complicated for me.

England, I suppose, didn't exist before the Angles arrived. Hence the name. Everywhere I look, Harold is referred to as Anglo-Saxon... Perhaps English is Anglo-Saxon and complaints about the monarchy being of 'German' origin comes under the heading of, who cares. All English are German...
