That wasn't a fight. I think they were just trying to do the nasty but too drunk. Could not understand what language they were speaking.

Probably Russian or Ukrainian, also maybe Polish or Lithuanian?

Wouldn't be surprised if one was an Arab.

Out of all the shiity foreigners here,Chinese,Indians,Russians and Yanks, the Arabs are the most obnoxious by miles.Arrogant, entitled, unfriendly and a real contempt for other countries and cultures.

Couldn't agree more.

I live in Pratamnak. Surrounded by Russians, with whom I have no problems. Chinese ditto. Not that many Middle Easterners nor Indians, but I always have a natter with the Nepali ex Gurkhas who run a tailoring shop on Jomtien Beach Rd. Friendly and communicative. Always a bright smile and how are you today.

Maybe you live in the ghetto?

Patong is one of the most blighted and horrific places in Thailand. Having accompanied a friend there last year, I would never return. It is dreadful, and it attracting the lowest quality tourists in its history.

The cops here are very weak. For us, there is a good and a bad side to that. In the US, they can be overzealous. Here?

Here, you just get a confused or sad emoji. Maybe add a dazed one?

Probably these 2 scumbag tourists were sky high on the marijuana.

Fine, deport and BAN for 3 years.

Idiots.

i don't think they were high on Marijuana, because if they were i don't think they would have the motivation to fight,

Why is it when ever some one does something wrong it always because they are high.

I am sure that in many other countries there are fights between tourist, but they don't get mentioned so no on knows about them,

Maybe you should try some weed and see if you want to go out and fight, i'm sure you will not.

It's not reported the reason why they were fighting, so why assume ?????

It's not the laws are weak but the emphasis of civil disobedience over criminal disobedience. The National Police seems less focused (or ignorant?) on enforcing laws from a criminal aspect to enforcing civil peace which has little to do with the rule of law.

The issue is that they are so focused on having an enticing place for tourists that they are willing to let things go for appearance sake

The cops are weak because there is no point in trying to be a conscientious police officer when the corruption and favourtism in the senior ranks is so prevalent.

No one is afraid of the police or the consequences of breaking laws. If it's not 2 NZs wrestling away a cops gun, it's a Thai slapping a cop. Add to that the prevailing thinking that any trouble with the law can be evaded if you pay the right people. Thailand has only themselves to blame.

“They would never do this in other countries. They’d be deported, blacklisted, or jailed. But everything is fine in Thailand. We spoil foreigners until they stop respecting locals.”

What? In own Countries if western EU or US nothing will happen to any of them

“This happened because Thai laws are so weak. Foreigners aren’t afraid. They just need to offer a gift basket or money to the police, and then both eyes and mouths are shut.

Um, but aren't we entitled to be treat the same as Thais... or is this more proof of racism/xenophobia.
