That counts for everyday in the calendar. Where are the fireworks, Jomtien or Pattaya beach?

Near Bali Hai in the past, music concerts too. It is very crowded though.

Did you see the concert or a sea of people?

A dangerous sea of people nearly ending up in the sea!

Maybe they use the barges as per the Fireworks competition these days.

What happens in Pattaya on new years eve? Ive heard there's fireworks, anything else?

The place is a zoo.  Last year the beaches were full and there was no room at the bars unless you had reserved a spot.

The fireworks were good but like I said going to a bar and getting srink was something else.

Also there were stalls set up all along Beach road.  The only goodhting was that beach road was closed to vehicles.

This year thinking about staying in BKK

I has varied over the years with fireworks being the main event. Beach parties were a popular thing and there used to be a variety of bars with shows but not so much these days. There is now a fairly large music event held in New Plaza as well as the music event at Bali Hai Pier, that is not for the faint hearted, extremely crowded.

Covid brought it all to a halt and we went to Koh Chang in 2021 and 22 which was more open. Last year was the first fully open NY since covid and the crowds on the beach in Soi 8 area were horrendous, All those from New Plaza had just poured down Soi 8 on to the beach, best to avoid that part of the beach.

The official fireworks are done at Bali Hai but there are fireworks going off all around, mainly from the big hotels.

If you are tempted to view from a rooftop bar, be warned they keep the numbers down with highly inflated prices.

This was Pattaya beach about 10.30pm on New Years Eve 2020.

The bigger Beach resorts include new year celebrations with buffet package. If I had kids, I would find a suitable place for safe fireworks handling. Public beaches or bigger open Space celebration is just beyond any common sense.

So the bali hat pier area is going to be absolutely rammed yes?

You will see the fireworks anywhere round Pattaya beach. Personally I avoid the centre like the plague. The beach area and the city in general will be rammed. Take care of your kids if you go.

Probably to the extent that you don't really have a good time (unless you like crowds).

The last festival I attended there was mostly watching where I was walking and maneuvering through a sea of people. The actual festival was secondary to that. That said, it can be fun if you're drunk and with the right people. It's all mindset.
