A recess appointment is an appointment.

I think Clinton got about 150 recess appointments.

And? So did G.W. Bush. Without knowing the reasons why other Presidents used the process, my understanding is trump is intending to us for thoroughly unacceptable appointees, even for some Republicans.

It seems there are allegations of sexual assault against SecDef nominee Pete Hegseth.

No wonder 47 chose him....birds of a feather.

Defending Hegseth against the news, mouthpiece Cheung used the usual hyperbolic drivel that spews from that coming Administration:

“We look forward to his confirmation as United States Secretary of Defense so he can get started on Day One to Make America Safe and Great Again,” Steven Cheung said.

Safe and Great...Again (the quote used the caps)?

There hasn't been a terrorist attack in the US in years, and in terms of great, a GDP running 3 times the G7 average is not chopped liver, and neither is 4% US, especially after 47 left Biden 6.8% and a Recession.

That was before he made his first announcements including Gaetz.

They all use them for the same reason.

I don’t remember you getting worked up about the sexual assault allegations against Biden.

You are a hypocrite

The only candidate for majority leader that was gung-ho on recess appointment was Florida's Rick Scott, but he didn't make it.

But they all said they would support recess appointments.

That said, the will have to get enough on board for it to make sense.

I’ve heard good things about the DOJ #2 spot pick. Maybe they just move them up.

The concern is not getting Republicans on board, it’s getting it done as quickly as possible.

So far, to me Gaetz and RFKJ are the heaviest lift.

Sure but first they have to have a 10 day recess with no interim short pro forma sessions  and that ain't duck soup with only a 3 or 4 Repub majority including Vance's break the tie vote.

Right, so the ideas that Trump can push just anyone through is a bit silly.

With the left using the filibuster, how long can they drag it out?

As I understand it, recess appointments are not going to be used to avoid lack of Republican support.

Regarding Trump's cabinet level picks so far -- except for maybe Marco Rubio -- I think of the line from Jimi Hendrix:

I know what I want, but I just don't know
How to go about getting it
