Robert DeNiro.  He's been in some great films but, like most actors, he just has the right look and the right sound.

To be honest, I don't really rate most actors, for the above reason.  Yes, they can "act", but of course there are millions of people who can too, they just don't have the right look and sound.

Also, Daniel Day-Lewis and Heath Ledger's jokers.  Terrible.

I know you are out to lunch...Three of the best actors...trying to be political troll?

Michael Madsen. Was OK in Reservoir Dogs, but he plays exactly the same part whatever movie he's in. Definitely a one trick pony

I have no idea what you're saying.  Try making an actual point?

I think this really captures the essence of the overrated actor.  They're famous, people think they're very, very cool, probably attractive, but they essentially play themselves.  Adequately, but not breathtakingly.

Tony Blair. very under ratted.

Kier Starmer. Very under rated.

Both are true.  great clowns of there time.

Anyone that makes a lot of pictures has good and bad.

Sure, but when we talk about "overrated actors", there has to be an element of people thinking they're really good actors, when they are basically standard.

In my opinion, people are basically saying, "He's one of the best actors ever", when they mean, "I really, really like him".

Part of being a great actor is picking what you do. I like Tom Cruise and Nick Cage, which one it the better actor? Almost every Cruise picture is good, while only about 20% of Nick's stuff is worth watching. Cage has made over twice as many movies as Cruise, in the same time frame.

It's all about box office draw. Plenty of great character actors, but they don't fill theaters,

I would say Cage is the better actor as he stretches himself in different roles far more than Cruise. I'd like to see Cruise play something other than the hero, something like Dustin Hoffman in Midnight Cowboy, or a serial killer like in Silence of the Lambs. He's a little bit pigeon holed IMO.

Keanu is overated because all he does is play the same dazed stoner role he has always played and its great now because he has morphed into a stoned assassin, but its not like he is acting.

How come I havent seen Harvey Keitel named yet?

If you want to see Keanu at a grade A level of suckitude watch him try to play a doctor in “To The Bone”.

But everybody loves him because he once ate a sandwich with a homeless dude.

Hes a good shot though. Watch his training videos. The man can blast through a Practical Shooting course.

Ive never seen To The Bone and based on your discerning eye, I wont bother.

I will agree hes got that anti star vibe, what with his elderly girlfriend and no mansion and all that.

I did like Alan Rickman. He was good in pretty much every part he played. I think his voice played a big part in his success. He was typically cast as a Brit villainous type though in most movies. I suppose you stick to what you are good at although chances are, you play that type of role in one movie and you are at the top of the list when a similar role comes along.

I thought he was good in the movies, "Bottle Shock" and "Galaxy Quest"  and have always liked him!!

Nicole Kidman, worst actress in the history of acting and not far  behind her in acting ability is Vin Diesel.

First of all, she's drop dead gorgeous.

Who doesn't like to look at gorgeous women when they're watching a film?

But also, there's a subtle tinge of mystery about her. She has incredible, albeit subtle, charms that maybe not everyone notices.

But Hollywood directors did notice them and that's why she was so big.

I agree! Great actress. Why? Great body. No need to be intelligent etc.

Ronny Regan. On both roles. As an "D" actor and a Prez.

Yep Adam Sandler.....cannot stand him, and Andie MacDowel no matter how bad she was she couldn't kill 4 Weddings and a Funeral, cannot stand her as well...

Throw in a host of the Action actors that CANT act like Sylvester Stallone, Dwayne Johnston, cant stand the sight of that guy, Chuck Norris, Liam Neeson sold his soul to crap movies hard to watch these days, Steven Seagal is top 5 "so bad" Mr smooth Pierce Bronson did he make any movies believable?

I agree with everything you said. Cannot watch a Liam Neeson movie and cannot believe Adam Sandler was ever given the opportunity to make a movie. Can't stand Martin Lawrence either.

I would also throw into the mix - the whole Baldwin clan, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lungdren and David Caruso.
