I pay taxes in the UK, my taxes haven’t gone up.

Labour ‘scandals’ are hardly that given the excesses of the past 14 years, and there’s even been a ministerial resignation in the face of criticism. Something the UK hasn’t seen for that same 14 years.

If you are an employee then you now cost more for your employer to employ you, but you don't see that money.  Congrats, you have been hoodwinked into thinking you are unaffected by the tax rises and when you next try asking for a pay rise this NI increase will be taken into account.

Don't take it so seriously, it was just a bit of humour .

No need to be nasty about it

One of the most imaginative swerves yet around accepting that taxes for working people have not risen.

Well done James.

I wouldn’t call your perjorative remarks about the looks of British women ‘nasty’, rather more low level dull.

I'm a "woke" citizen of the USA, and I can assure you that "wokeness" will never die in the USA. Once you're "woke," you'll never be able to allow yourself to "sleep" (ignore the plight of others) again.

You distill the very essence of all the self-righteous, moralising nonsense that was destroying the USA; the nonsense that the electorate just rejected out of hand, thankfully.

It’s odd how each person attributing the election result to a particular cause, chooses the particular issue that they spend a lot of time banging on about.

Always the snidey put down, always insinuating other members are inferior in some way.

It's his modus operandi. Arrogance and personal attacks, Fortunately he gets very little support on here.

It’s a logical conclusion drawn from Nick’s comments, there are lots of very attractive women, beautiful too, in the UK.

Nick doesn’t seem to have met any.

can you explain "knuckle dragger" please. I see it used a lot by the kind of Leftie who reads the Guardian and considers themselves to be superior (probably because they are smart enough to "get" Socialism).

The most popular vote in the USA was 49.9% for Trump and 48.3% for Harris. That's not what I'd call "out of hand." It's not even a majority. Trump did win the Electoral College vote by a good margin, and that is very disappointing to me. I'm disgusted that so many of my fellow citizens were either conned by Trump or actually have the same values as he does. Anyway, I will continue to be part of the "woke nonsense" and hope somehow my country can survive the next four years.

It’s a perjorative term, unlike your parroted use of the word ‘woke’ I use it in the actual sense of the word:

Dictionary

INFORMAL
noun: knuckle-dragger; plural noun: knuckle-draggers.

I didn't lose, but my country did. I still have my values, but now my country will be run by a president who has none. I will "suck it up" and continue to express my views on all subjects I care about for the next four years and beyond.

He's a Leftie, they are always nasty, despite what they think, because they are attracted by the license to hate. The hate is on the Left,

I suggest you need to spend less time worrying about the lives of other members… just a suggestion.

BBC's influence on football. Premier League players still taking the knee, despite the utterly discredited BLM scam. Rainbow armbands an laces obligatory yesterday FFS. And at least one woman commentator/pundit for every men's match.

And have you watched Wolf Hall (great series by the way)? Incredible the number of black people at the court of Henry III. But I'm sure it's historically accurate, as approved by the BBC's 'fact checkers'. They are running a ludicrously self-righteous ad at the moment. boasting about their reporters' 'tireless search for the truth'. Not an ounce of introspection or self awareness in that doomed organisation.

Oh, so you are saying that anybody who disagrees with the Left or the false narrative of wokeism is a "stupid, loutish person"? Where does the Left get this assumed intellectual and moral superiority from? I think it is from never having being held to account for your errors - screw up and there are no consequences.

A prime example of this influence can be seen at the BBC, an institution funded by the British public. The broadcaster recently awarded its “Women’s Footballer of the Year” title to Barbra Banda, a player who had been disqualified from competing in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for failing to meet sex eligibility standards.

The BBC never fails :clap2:

I’ve got some disturbing news for you.

Wolf Hall is an adaptation of historical fiction novels.

It’s not a portrayal of real history.

No, not anyone who disagrees with me.

That’s not what I said, but go ahead imagine views on my behalf for you to argue with.

Let me know when it dawns on you that in doing so you are arguing with yourself.

Ah so that's what the Left calls what it does - I call it applying a standard template.

You're obviously not running a business then or employing anyone. Try getting away from the keyboard and out into the real world.

Small business owners don't work?

Farmers don't work?

People whose relatives just died don't work?

People who made a bit of money on investments don't work?

Parents of children who go to private schools don't work?

They said they wouldn't raise taxes then raised them by 40 Billion citing a black hole that they refused to give details of.

They are liars and the British people who were stupid enough to vote for them now know it.

By ending austerity I assume you mean freezing pensioners, forcing farmers to sell up and increasing the tax burden by 40 Billion?

By investing in education I assume you mean increasing tuition fees and adding VAT to school fees?

By investing in health, I assume you mean breaking the promise about no investment without reform?

All of this with a Chancellor who lied on her CV.

Great stuff. 😃

Gee you sound like the Democrat sore losers.

We had an election, it was an overwhelming majority.

Welcome to democracy.

What was woke was having a black leader replacing the woman leader who replaced the clown.
If that isn’t woke I don’t know what is.
