Srikcir Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Thailand is at the eighth position on list of the 20 countries with highest rice consumption per capita. I expected China to rank higher but at nineteenth. https://www.insidermonkey.com/, by Aima Zaheer, June 16, 2023
lordgrinz Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Nothing to be proud of, more like a symbol of failure by the health ministry.
PETERTHEEATER Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Ironically, the noodles are, predominently, made from wheat flour. Not too many fields of waving wheat in Thailand. 1
CallumWK Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I see the forum food experts are active in this thread, and declaring MSG as unhealthy, although there is no evidence for that, and in fact it is healthier than salt which is commonly used by westerners. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/monosodium-glutamate/faq-20058196 https://www.goodrx.com/well-being/diet-nutrition/is-msg-bad-for-you

Somebody in the western medical world decided msg was not good for you, and it's stayed that way ever since. It's just umami, the Japanese 5th taste.
