It's a TV show. Not reality. What I posted was simple fact. People in the US don't give much thought at all to what happens in the UK, while UKers obsess over America and Americans, as your post demonstrates. BTW, "John Drake" worked for World Wide Travel" in New York City, where he was stationed.

Yeah, in Thailand ask a British what they think of Americans and they will go into some hate rant and of course, bring up Trump.  Ask an American about the British and they just shrug their shoulders not careless and might say: they sure seem to hate Americans.  Lots of jealousy I assume especially with their terribly sad $1,000 and month frozen pensions when the U.S. social security gets big COLAś and the max. is close to $5,000 a month now.

I haven't lived in the UK, my home country, since 1980. Back then I can assure you we did not think or obsess about the USA. We had many other interests/concerns to occupy us.

those figures are not accurate at all, never averaged that much over my working years and I am getting way more than that chart is showing.

As far as UK interest in the US, watch the Graham Norton show, or HIGNFY.

Without American guests or American stories they would be at a loss.
