Political statements, controversial persons as profile pix can be offensive

We all have our own beliefs for religion, societies, economics, politics etc. etc. but I find the practice of posting a profile picture which is a political statement offensive.

I think many would complain if a swastika was used and photos of some controversial figures could disturb some.

Personally, I find MAGA (make america great again) to be a political statement and do not know why it is allowed.

Using the much hated Farage as a profile pic offends me; he was the person who pushed the UK into the brexit fiasco, causing misery for millions.

Poor taste or misguided support of bad politics / persons who knows?

I would prefer not to be reminded of these things when using this forum.

Thank you🙏

Thank you for raising your concerns. While we allow freedom of expression, profile pictures must not violate our guidelines, which prohibit explicit hate or offensive content. Images like MAGA slogans or public figures may not appeal to everyone but don't necessarily breach these rules.

If you believe a specific profile picture is inappropriate, please report it for review. We aim to balance personal expression with maintaining a welcoming space for all.

Thank you for your feedback, perhaps you could make such comments in the "forum support" area please.

I think MAGA people show great concern to those who don't like hot air.

It's like warning - I appreciate it. Won't click.

Brexit was started by BoJo and Cameron, it was put to a democratic vote, from you comment it seems you were on the losing side, I can understand people were not happy, but 'causing misery'...how so? Other than needing a visa to go abroad, how has it effected daily life?

I guess democracy is all well & good, as long as it goes your way.

A hate speech dragging swastikas and concentration camps into the topic has been removed, also replies.

I am Ultra Extreme MAGA but I do not go around with a sign advertising my patriot feelings bout how I want to see America Great Again. But I do understand that some patriots are very excite about Trump and bringing  back America from the brink of socialism and globalization. I also understand that many left wing socialists absolutely hate the fact that America will be great again under Trump and want to leave to socialist countries like the UK.

I like profile picture like this and comments like that. I read them once, and then they go in the garbage bin - in this forum called Ignore List. Problem solved.

Farage is an elected MP, are you saying someone who was elected in free and fair elections is beyond the pale because your politics don't match his?

MAGA is a mainstream political movement that was just voted for by millions of Americans. It is not the KKK or the reemergence of Nazism as smeared by the Left for their own political agenda.

How do you feel about hammers and sickles and clenched fists, after all Communism has been responsible for millions murdered.

What about the totalitarian ideology which has its own symbol, and has been estimated to be the cause of as many as 250m deaths? The fact that I am not naming this group tells you which one it is.

What about Israeli flags? Some might object to that. I am shocked by the comments by Israelis and American Jews on social media calling for mass murder and celebrating it.

What about LGBTQ+ pride flags and trans flags? - many of us who are supportive of people being who they really are object to this being used in what should be apolitical spaces because that movement is politically affiliated.

What you are saying is you don't want any political views you don't like. Have you tried Bluesky?

He's doing the typical leftist thing of starting with his conclusion (not wanting to see profile pics that annoy him) then trying to find/fabricate the argument and evidence that fit (they're offensive).
