Teen Injured in Motorbike Crash After Bee Sting and Antihistamine-Induced Drowsiness

The Sawang Rojanatham Sathan Rescue Foundation received a report at 16.40 on December 19, of a motorcycle crash involving a streetlight pole opposite a PTT gas station in Bang Saray, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.

 

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a gray Honda Giorno motorbike without a license plate damaged after colliding with a streetlight pole. The rider, identified as 17-year-old Jirapat Srimuang, sustained multiple injuries, including abrasions, a chipped front tooth, a forehead wound, and a swollen lip.

 

Rescue workers provided first aid at the scene before transporting Jirapat to Sattahip Km. 10 Hospital for further treatment.

 

Jirapat recounted that earlier, he had been stung by a bee and took an antihistamine to alleviate the allergic reaction. He then proceeded to ride his motorbike home. However, the medication made him drowsy, and he dozed off while riding. As a result, he lost control of his motorbike, which hit the curb and then crashed into the streetlight pole, causing his injuries.

 

Authorities are investigating the incident further, but they caution riders about the dangers of operating vehicles while under the influence of medications that may cause drowsiness.
