I think he recognizes the westwards creep of communism/socialism from China and the dangers such anti western democratic way of life poses. Denmark like the rest of western Europe is under the grip of commie/woke/self loathing/population replacement whackjobs, not a big stretch to see them aligning totally with Beijing when the population has been sufficiently "enriched" and then having red army bases all over Greenland with nukes pointing at the US from its backyard.

 

Far better just to annex Grernland and save the worry. Make Greenland Great Again, end of the day it's up to Greenland based voters if they want to be free or under the woke yoke.

People need to stop obsessing over Trumps random announcements.  The man suffers from verbal diarrhea, whatever thought happens to be passing through his addled brain is what comes out of his mouth.  If another world leader discussed annexing another country, that would mean that his generals have a plan and are seriously considering it.  When Trumps says something like this, it just means that he had some random thought and it came out of his mouth.  It's not time to start warming up the tanks and aircraft carriers, it's time to lower our expectations of rational discourse from the "leader of the free world".

Unbelievably Denmark encouraged Chinese investment in the airports. Tell me, which one of you clowns wants China to control an airport that can strike Europe and North America?

Denmark has announced $1.5 billion for Greenland defence, a contribution to Arctic and NATO security. They even admitted that they had neglected their responsibilities and realized that the USA would never allow Russia or China to gain military access to the island. So this is already a win for Trump. It cost him nothing to warn the Danes they better get their act together. And you can look forward to annual exercises at the newly funded airport by USAF as its being expanded specifically to handle NATO fighter jets at Danish expense.

Considering I do not think Trump is going to annex part of Denmark, no matter what verbal dribble comes out of his mouth, I can't take a thread like this seriously.

Even if his brain malfunctioned to the point he was serious, I doubt his military would obey an order to invade an allied nation that is in NATO.
