You will find in general that sentences in Thailand for juveniles may seem very light compared to, say, the US. Judges here are reluctant to imprison juveniles, relying more on the family and the wider community, teachers, neighbours, local police, village headman, to act as a restraining influence and eyes and ears watching over juvenile offenders.

 One of them is 18. He will be crying for his Mama in  prison soon enough.
