GammaGlobulin Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Dear Folks, I never thought I would make it to the year 2525. Yet, here we are. Why? Must be good genes.... Right? So, the question is..... Do you think you will make it to 3535? If you believe in God, then you will.....indubitably so. But, will Man still be alive? Already, we have cried a TRILLION Tears..... Has it all been worth it? If so, and you believe it, then do you have any valid evidence to support your view? I really never believed that I would live to the year 2000, at least I never believed this back when I first heard this tune. 1969 was a very good year..... It was a very good year for small town girls And soft summer nights We'd hide from the lights On the village green When I was seventeen Now, having lived to the year 2525, which really was not so easy.... We will be sad to go, when we must. Yet, maybe better to go now, rather than to live until the year.... 3535. Nothing remains the same. At least for us. Those who see Time progressing in only one direction. Do you ever try to escape, if only in your own mind.... To better times. When you were seventeen. Does anybody still recall: FRIDAY WITH FRANK? I know that I do. Such nostalgia, you don't want to know about it. 2525 will be a very good year for all. But, still, this year will be shorter than last year. The aging process, so tragically, causes time to be perceived as traveling faster, and faster, the older we become. 2524 has now passed, and RIP. On with 2525...now.... Only a few more days to go...until 2526. Best regards, And don't dwell too much on your waning years. Gamma 1
ChumpChange Posted January 2 Posted January 2 That makes two of us, Gigi. I am 100% surprised that you made it to 2025 myself. Trust me, nobody ever expected it either. Well, look on the bright side, there’s always next year. 1

Still, I hope to last until the year 2526, and I remain filled with optimism. I believe that people here see some hope for me, yet. Just as I see great hope for our forum. Let's all grow together, this New Year..... My best wishes, for sure.
Jingthing Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Never trust anyone over 30. Remember that? I really didn’t expect to make it to 30 and with good reason. When I did I said oh <deleted> I'm gonna have to sell out and get a corporate job as I've got expensive tastes.

Or, like Trump: Both good taste and expensive tastes In your opinion.... 2
GammaGlobulin Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Fritz Lang: Incredible film. AI: Cannot TOP Lang, not even in 3535 Perhaps, the less humans rely on AI, then the more creative they become. Note.... Very nice YT HD Metropolis here.... This is what Germany was before the Nazi. Such a blessing. And, such a creative culture, in the arts. Unfortunately, they created a monster. It can happen here, too....

Or, like Trump: Both good taste and expensive tastes I never thought I'd see "good taste" in the same sentence as "Trump". First time for everything I guess. Expensive, yes. If he was Joe Average the chances of him marrying Melania would be less than mine of being on the first expedition to Mars.

Popular Post Lacessit Posted January 2 Popular Post Posted January 2 Definitely not. I thought I was toast when I was diagnosed with bladder cancer 19 years ago, the same cancer that killed David Ogden Stiers. An actor who absolutely nailed his role in M#A#S#H, and a man of culture. Then again 3 years ago with leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Yet here I am, and here I remain. 5

KhunLA Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I've surpassed mine and everyone's expectations. May ever see 2030 or 35. Atheist, but do have to wonder if 'GOD was my co-pilot' more than a few times. Got past 50 yrs old, so apparently, you can fix stupid

Bundooman Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Sorry if I'm being thick - I just don't get it. I remember the song "In the year 2525 ..." But the poster is making it sound like he talking about it being this year???? The year is 2025, 0r, in Thai years, 2568. What is he talking about. I don't understand. Is he confused? I am!
spidermike007 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 My favorite quote about aging and getting old. Older people are perceived as cynics and misanthropes. But, they are simply people who have at last heard the still, sad music of humanity, played by a mediocre rock band howling for fame. Do not go gently into that good night. Old age should burn and rave at close of day. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Dylan Thomas 30s is too soon. Dying in your 30's is tragic. As is the 40s Sympathy dissapates from there. 50s is such a shame 60s is too soon 70s a good run 80s a life well lived 90s - a fricking hell of a ride Ya' know what though, I don't mind. I mean if my muscles ache, it's because I've used 'em. It's hard for me to walk up them steps now, its 'cuz I walked up 'em every night to lay next to a man who loved me. I got a few wrinkles here and there, but I've layed under thousands of skies with sunny days. I look and feel this way, well cuz I drank and I smoked. I lived and I loved, danced, sang, sweat and screwed my way thorough a pretty damn good life if you ask me. Getting old ain't bad Ben. Getting old, that's earned.

Surasak Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I don't have a defeatist attitude and never gave time a thought when I moved here. What's your excuse??!!
Enoon Posted January 3 Posted January 3 In 2008 I thought I would last until 2010. I was once assessed, by a college tutor, as "tends to rely excessively on his wits". It will take all of them to make it through the next 10 years.......I fear I may live that long. Happy New Year to one and all:
worgeordie Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Made it to 80 this year , when we were young'un's that sounded ancient and they looked ancient , wife says i look the same as when she met me 37 years ago , and she doesn't lie , 😫 , I never ever thought that I would reach that age , as I have always eaten what I want ,lived in Chiang mai smog for so many years, when I see folks reporting they don't eat sugar ,fat ,Animals and all that bad stuff how long are they hoping to live ? , I don't drink alcohol or smoke maybe that helped. It's not how long you live it's what you do in those years, some people living around me in Gateshead never went further than the pub down the road , I was a traveler from an early age ,seen the World ,don't think I would like to return to many of those places now , glad I did it when I was younger and fit enough to OK take care , who knows what the future holds for us ,just do your best now.... regards worgeordie 1 1
