Hi folks, as the subject i have been thinking for a while and want to let it go about these bizzare and mostly annoying behavior of our citizens of los

1. when you buy electronics such as 50k baht iphone or a flat screen tv

thai staff open up the brand new phone fiddling with their possibly dirty hands

Shows you that the phone actually starts

then stuffing everything back inside the box like being scratch ain’t their problem

2. When you buy a new car thai staff rides your car without much care then proceeds to put a dirty dealer logo and a big silly ribbon on the bonnet possibly scratching a few  and demands to take a picture as if  they added any value to the sale without making customers annoyed or worried

not to mention the horror stories of their so called after service

like ur taking it to them to get more damages , depreciates and what not

3. When you go to a Home Depot like places , there’s like 20 staffs standing there looking at you , following you, begging to ask them for something  I feel like being hunted and if I reply maipenrai they start coughing or clicking pens like it’s not my fault u gotta do this

I just strongly feel it’s so bizzare and upsets me when I encounter these moments with the citizens of los and can ruin my mood and day

On the contradictory it’s alright to have some booze with the citizens of los

what ever class they are from

Amy one feel me?

You buy a new car or new phone every six months, to get so upset?

Take a Valium before you go shopping.

No, I don't want to feel you.

Despicable!

Despicable replaces the high horse, what a relief.

I take medication every day. You will understand if/when you get to my age.

Loosen your jockstrap, please. The pressure is affecting your thinking.

Looking at something in the shop for ages, fridges, tiles, tv's etc with the assistant hovering. Finally Mrs decides which one she wants only to be instantly informed- NO HAVE. Ok we will have the second choice- NO HAVE, you know there is no point asking why they did not tell you before. Looking at a fridge once on special offer today and tomorrow, bloke measured it up for us, decide we will have it- NO HAVE mrs asked, oh sold them all already- er no not get in shop yet.

I must say... The 'bow on the car and fake flowers' thing is a bit odd (not annoying though).

I've never encountered it previously (+20 years here and numerous cars), but when picking up a car recently they had the bow and fake flowers etc...   Wife and I wanted nothing to do with that, so asked the staff to remove them.

They wanted 'their photo' so Wife reluctantly agreed after they agreed not to put anything on social media, not that its a big deal, but it just looks a big crass and showy to have photo taken like that with a new car - its just car.

Another one that entertains me: Adult females wearing pyjama's in the Wet Market, or at every hotel Buffet Breakfast...  (again not annoying, but makes wonder what they are thinking).

I think in his case it is far more than just a jockstrap issue. More likely a brain chemical imbalance that resulted in a permanent wedgie.

Meanwhile, I suspect this thread will go on for 10 pages. It is exactly the kind of topic that all the old moaners and whingers on here live for. No offense, but usually that means a high percentage of the posters will be British as well.

This is probably due to an antisocial disposition

While this is true, and it is very annoying for some, you can explain to them that you want to open the packaging.

When going for a haircut at a new place they always, well mostly, want to take a bunch of photos of of their "good" work.

I don't mind and smile sweetly at the camera, but it's all a bit odd

2. When you buy a new car

........and the pump jockeys at the filling station put a big magnetic advertising billboard on the hood of your car, not caring that the magnetic strip picks up metal debris when they stow it on the ground between customers.

That one is simple to deal with...  Get and EV !!!....

... seriously though, I used to have the sam concerns, so I'd just wave my hand to tell them not to put the board on - I figure enough people do the same, because they always understood what I meant.

Problem is they wait until you're on your cellphone or looking for your wallet, and scratch up the car while you're not watching them.

I could probably make a fortune selling automatic fly swatters with motion/distance sensors that mount on the car grill...........maybe the mosquito zapper kind with higher voltage!

Erm.. you write that as if 'they' [the pump attendants] are waiting to deliberately catch you so they can scratch your car....  which of course is nothing like the reality - they're just doing their job and don't care if you are watching or not.

I know why they 'do it' [put the foam sign on our bonnet] - many drivers are so distracted, they are likely to forget to pay and just drive off !!!

You can't prove that!

I suspect it's a scam instigated by their second cousin who owns a paint shop.

I have purchased 4 brand new cars over the years.,

All done via email, for human contact the car saleman and finance people came to my work to review and sign documents.

Vehicles delivered on slide tray trucks when ready.

Scheduled servicing has been on point, dealerships have collected the vehicle from my work and returned on time with no damage.

This happened to me, too.

TERRIBLE.

Why do they do this?

It's almost as if they are trying to antagonize a good customer.

This happened with a Samsung phone I purchased recently.

Worst experience of my life.

Years ago I  went car shopping up here in Sakon Nakhon . I went to test drive a Honda Civic at the dealership! They didnt have any , they suggested I order one or test drive a Honda Jazz 555.

I told my wife to tell the sales lady , never mind I’ll go to Toyota up the street.

I thought it strange to suggest ordering a  Civic that I couldn’t test drive!

Number 3 is a definite.

Nothing like being stalked by about 10 staff in homepro while you find what you are looking for and if you can't find it them going looking for a hour to enlighten you mai mee !! 🤣
