Can the box stop working all of a sudden, it won't load onto the TV now, had it for a couple of years it's the X96 x6 not a cheap one.

Is there a proper way to turn the tv off, should zi turn the Android box of first then the tv?

I have 3 different  brand boxes. Sometime I have to do a hard reset, not after on one of them. When strange things start to happen and removing the power etc doesn't fix the problem, could be time for a hard reset.

Bit of a pain cause you have to reinstall Kodi mods and other added apps.

Yeah the boxes will have that last resort reset option.

That's why i use a smartphone instead of a dodgy android box, phones have much better specs usually

Which phone and at what price? You make it sound as if using a Smartphone is better, when it clearly is not.

Smartphone has lesser function in this case and is more expensive.

I deleted some Apps from the box, it is now working perfectly, I'm guessing it was a memory problem.

You use an old phone, i use my Xiaomi Redmi note 9 and yes it is better, better specs, not the fake specs boxes often have, then cast to TV

Agree. In fact I prefer to use my modern, powerful laptop (with a wireless mouse) instead of ‘dodgy android boxes’ or a phone. 
 

I find an HDMi cable more reliable than casting from a phone especially when travelling - which is often - as not all hotel TVs have casting abilities. Also, some of my home-country channels are geo-blocked on my phone (even when using a VPN) but not on a laptop.

The power supplies for these boxes are notoriously bad. Order a spare from Lazada or shopee for cheap.

So it seem you either watch and work on a tiny screen or you have to mirror that screen on a TV and work on a tiny phone keyboard. You need a Smart TV too, since you cannot plug the phone into the TV.

It seems a primitive solution rather than more advanced.  Maybe you can explain those better specs to us mere mortals and how they translate to it being better than a dedicated Android box.

Had my android box for approx 3 years, not one problem untill recently, it was a memory problem, I deleted a couple of apps, it is now working great again.

the note 9 is Ram 4+2GB, storage 128gb, much better than most boxes often with fake specs, also 100% reliable. Phone is very easy to operate, have you noticed billions of people using one all the time? casting is very easy, yes you need a smart tv, who hasn't? maybe people with very old TVs and time to change. wifi is very fast, no need for ethernet. Try it then come back to the table, if you haven't tried it your view is garbage

Exactly, a memory problem, very poor specs usually, i think i had the X96 and chucked it

The problem was I had a couple to many apps installed, you chucked a perfectly good box.

We aren't referring to boxes with fake specs that can cost 400 to 500 baht. 

So far you have referred to RAM and storage and only proved me right that the Redmi Note 9 has a poorer specification.

X96 6 has up to 8GB of RAM. Your phone 4GB(I don't know what 4GB + 2GB means. Can you explain?).

 

Yes, Newsflash. Billions use their phones as phones. I rarely watch anything other than YouTube on mine unless I am happy watching on a tiny screen. I don't know anyone, other than transients, who mirror their phones on a TV screen. It's seriously primitive and just a stopgap measure when nothing else is available.

So now you need good WiFi and a Smart TV for your system to even function 😊Have you moved back to the 20th century?

Are you Casting or Mirroring? If you don't even understand the difference then it doesn't appear that you have anything useful to add either.

Mirroring the screen of your phone is a very poor way of viewing media.

Which application do you use for Casting? I use Casting and Mirroring on occasion, so we can discuss it. What is Nownow?

On the phone if you pull down the top screen options you'll see a casting button. Generally i view already downloaded  videos, streaming sporting events. I much prefer it to the boxes i had previously

Screen Mirroring simply replicates what is on your phone's display. Casting will transmit the media and you can have something else completely showing on your phone screen.

Your screenshot states that it Casts the mobile phone screen, rather than just the media, as you would do with Chromecast. So it looks to me like Screen Mirroring and not Casting.

I'm confused. I thought that you recommended this method and were showing us how you did it. You claimed that you were Casting and so I wanted to understand how it worked from your phone to a Smart TV. I have a LG.

You showed me an application on your phone which appears to be a Screen Mirroring application. Now you are saying that you use the VLC application which does have a Cast option, but doesn't the TV need to have Chromecast support?

Can you not explain the whole thing in a single post? Why are you getting mad? It's you who brought it up, so why are you getting mad at me? If you don't want to talk about something, then why bring it up?

it is made by solovox and has a app called cherry tv app

 

it is a knock off of a app called mytvonline, it is spot on for 1300 baht (aliexpress) or 1800 from malls locally.

Just returned from a holiday staying at a “luxury” hotel. My room had a TX 6 android box. Was trying to watch the Australian Open tennis on the box using LiveNet but it kept switching to advertising videos (always during match critical stages) thus completely ruining the viewing experience. Thank goodness I could stream the tennis on my phone during those ‘ad block outs’. I couldn’t cast my phone because it was not a smart TV. 

This problem will never happen again as I will be sure to pack my laptop and HDMi cable from now on - regardless of the hotel’s rating. 
 

Just wondering if these annoying LENGTHY video advertisements occur on all android boxes? Or just LiveNet?

I have an IPTV program from UK installed on my Firestick, and on my PC via Bluestacks.

Both work fine, but the best is on my Poco Android phone, but must hold it close to the face of course.
