Tv android box

Just returned from a holiday staying at a “luxury” hotel. My room had a TX 6 android box. Was trying to watch the Australian Open tennis on the box using LiveNet but it kept switching to advertising videos (always during match critical stages) thus completely ruining the viewing experience. Thank goodness I could stream the tennis on my phone during those ‘ad block outs’. I couldn’t cast my phone because it was not a smart TV.

This problem will never happen again as I will be sure to pack my laptop and HDMi cable from now on - regardless of the hotel’s rating.

Just wondering if these annoying LENGTHY video advertisements occur on all android boxes? Or just LiveNet?

Depends on what app you are using  or they are using.

Which phone and at what price? You make it sound as if using a Smartphone is better, when it clearly is not. Smartphone has lesser function in this case and is more expensive.

Which are the better specs? I see that it has lower RAM 4GB as compared to 8GB, no HDMI output, USB 2.0 only, no AV1 decoding, no Ethernet connection. So it seem you either watch and work on a ti

Agree. In fact I prefer to use my modern, powerful laptop (with a wireless mouse) instead of ‘dodgy android boxes’ or a phone.

I find an HDMi cable more reliable than casting from a phone especially when travelling - which is often - as not all hotel TVs have casting abilities. Also, some of my home-country channels are geo-blocked on my phone (even when using a VPN) but not on a laptop.

A lot of hotels screw the TV very close to the wall so you cannot get at the HDMI input sockets with a cable or worse still, a Firestick.

Already mentioned the app: LiveNet

Do you use LiveNet? Does it show advertising videos?

Agree. Sometimes it can be hard accessing the HDMI socket. Lucky my multi-purpose Leatherman has the necessary screwdrivers 😁

Don't know what live net is, I use an app which gives me 9000 channels, UK tv, sky, discovery etc no ads.

Livenet is a free app, they get funded through the advertisements.

Just bought the X98 H pro. My first box. I haven't been able to locate UFC channel. It has a selection for upcoming live events but doesn't include UFC fights. Shows basketball and Super Bowl but no UFC.

I have all you listed. I went to movies last Sat and that same movie is on the box. But, can't find UFC. It's overwhelming all the apps there is to open. I bought the best one the lady had for 2300 baht.

Definitely not, since it has the S905X4-J processor, which has issues with some codecs.

There are 3 versions of the S905X4 processor, B - J and K, and only the K version supports all codecs.

Better to go for a box with S922 or S928 processor.

Nvidia Shield TV Pro, although outdated OS and overpriced, is still one of the better boxes available

Why you think tv  channels have anything with the device you use?

You said you bought the best the lady had, though Allwinner processors are the worst of what is available on the market.

It's a 1100 baht box. Perhaps the extra was for the setup with channels etc. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007103647426.html or else a nice profit for the lady. Rent and bills have to be paid 😊

Have you tried deleting your cache on the apps. that are geo-blocked when on VPN?

Or make sure your location pin is turned off.

This sometimes happens to me so I use a different VPN location, in the same country and clear that app. cache.
