Current live music venues in Pattaya, Jan 2025

I've posted similar to this in the past, but as we all know, "stuff" changes rapidly in Pattaya so please indulge me.

I'm looking for live bands.
I'm aware of the various "Rolling" bars - not impressed by many to be honest but I did like the band in Rolling on Soi 8 last year and a friend's just messaged me to say they're even better now.

Also aware of the place on 2nd Road (nearly opposite Mike's dept. store) although since the Filipina singer left, they've become pretty boring, IMO
Likewise there was a place on Soi Diana (Sweethearts I think) last year - might still be there

There was also a large place on Soi Bukhau, nearly opposite LK Metro...began with a "B"

If anyone remembers the old "Blues Factory" on Walking St, a place like that would appeal greatly.

Now I know all this is very subjective but my musical tastes include but not limited to Jazz (30s to 40s), Swing, Jive, Rock 'n' Roll, Blues, R & B (the old version!) some Soul, most styles of Country (AND Western!) Sixties, Punk, most West Indian music (Calypso - Ska - Reggae etc). For 70s onwards, generally more Robbie than Rainbow, Blur possibly, NEVER Oasis.   And.....  NOT a headbanger!!!

I've found, over the years that Filipino / Filipina singers do better with western music than do Thai.

Looking for places around mainly central Pattaya, but Naklua and Jomtien also useful.

So any recommendations please?

Surprised you didn't mention the Triangle just off Soi Buakhow.

Philipino band will play just about anything you ask them to!

You're absolutely right - thanks.

And its just around the corner from where I stay.  😆 And it's on "Soi Pothole" where I've been known to spend the odd hour or 5!!

Cant think why I didn't include it - must be my premature senility! 😞

Did you check out the reasonably new Las Vegas place on Soi Diana?  It has A/C.  You won't know it until you walk through the air curtain.  A/C is a reason why I sometimes go to places like Rolling.

Also, the place on Soi Buakhao, Matador, which is across from LK.

The band at Tuk Tuk Club on LK play late, and are ok.

Since it's been enclosed, sometimes it's a sauna in there.  Are they trying to save on electric?

Over the years, I have always bought the staff member serving me a lady drink towards the end of my session there, and tipped the band, but when it's hot in there, I finish the two beers and leave.

Thank you.  👍

No, I didn't check Las Vegas on Diana - when I was last in Patts it wasn't quite open. I shall check it very soon.

And...that senility's having a fine time today... when I said "There was also a large place on Soi Bukhau, nearly opposite LK Metro...began with a "B"" I did in fact mean Matador - where are you Nurse?  😩😩😩

See  - you answer my question and I provide you with entertainment - fair exchange?

Tuk Tuk is completely new to me  - another one to try.

And thanks for the warning - too hot doesn't usually bother me....we shall see.

I prefer a more intimate place, as in, the band is just "there" within the crowd, on a small stage.  Las Vegas on Soi Diana is a large establishment.  The band is on a large elevated stage.  Good band, but you will have no interaction with them.    Don't worry about the cost of drinks at all the different bars.  They have to all charge the same price, which makes you wonder why anyone bought a bar in there, but that's for a different thread.

What about Billabong on LK?  Good band, good atmosphere.

I know what you mean - I used to go to gigs in London during the "Pub Rock" days of the late seventies and eighties, also when Punk surfaced. Being pressed up against the stage watching  NEW artists like The Jam or Ian Dury or Elvis Costello or Sex Pistols (all for free!!!) was brilliant - even when you got beer spilled over you and came out reeking of cigarette smoke.

Having said that, The Rolling Stones or Status Quo at Wembley were brilliant too - but in their own way.

I'm actually quite looking forward to checking out  Las Vegas - as I say it'll be new to me.

I have never been since that happened. Did they not install AC? Is smoking still going on?
