“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it,” Trump said. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”

Trump suggested other neighboring countries could invest millions of dollars to create “numerous sites or one large site” where Palestinians could relocate.

 

The president left open the possibility of U.S. troops being used to secure the Gaza Strip “if it’s necessary.”

If Jordon / Egypt agree to relocation after repeatedly declining to do so who's paying for infrastructure job creation etc etc. trump says if necessary he will send US military resources. On a side note Israel has requested more armoured bulldozers from the US!

If he wants to relocate anybody, then he should relocate all the Israelis to the USA.

The USA love Israelis and can live there happily ever after. They don't need military and military aid anymore, and they don't have those annoying Arabs around them.

And the Palestinian people should go back to their land.

I am sure many countries in the middle east would be happy about this solution.

Well, that's going to go down like a lead balloon. I see that there doesn't seem to be much point having Gaza as it is, basically a huge open prison, where it is, and just going back into the previously done cycle of destroy-rebuild-destroy-rebuild-destroy again as these two simply are having too much of a hard time being neighbours.

Something radical might have to be tried, like maybe just give them and equivalent sized piece of land ajacent to the West Bank and move them all there, plus give the West Bank government funding to build housing and infrastructure... but even then, it'll be a hard sell.

The equivalent in the US would be telling all the people in New York that they were going to be relocated to Wyoming, for their own good, and never mind that they lose their own land and houses as new ones would be built for them.

 

If you want to see what really awaits them, look at the refugees in Jordan, and you will know why it's not an attractive prospect.

In other words he'll invite his super rich developer buddies to come in and build multi-million dollar condos and five star resorts. Great work Don.

Trump also said he isn’t ruling out deploying U.S. troops to support reconstruction of Gaza. He envisions “long-term” U.S. ownership of a redevelopment of the territory.

 

Another promise broken to not engage in overseas adventures. 

 

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Palestinian Authority and the Arab League joined Egypt and Jordan in rejecting plans to move Palestinians out of their territories in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

 

I think the only conclusion that could be had here is that Trump is an absolute moron, who is completely and totally out of his element when it comes to foreign policy.

His supporters have learnt nothing from his lawless and chaotic first term. He grifted and his gillible low information supporters still continue to buy his junks and support his hair brain policies. Trump will be more power crazy and dangerous this time emboldened by cowardly Maga lawmakers who are will not dare to challenge him. We can expect more turbelent years ahead. 

 

Saudi and UAE have already pledged to pay for the reconstruction of Gaza. EU especially Germany who have been major donors of humantarian aids for occupied Palestine territories will likely to participate. Israel should shoulder rebuilding responsibilties for the damage inflicted. The rebuilding is estimated to cost about $50 B. Really don;t need any help from Trump. Just need him to shut his fat lips from creating confusion and chaos.

Here we agree.  If Palestinians are forcefully removed it is ethnic cleansing.  I've been alive long enough to listen to the US State Department use the term "ethnic cleansing" so often that pretty much every US citizens knows it's meaning.  Also, it provides Israel with cover - if leveling Gaza gets rid of Palestinians for good, then up next, leveling The West Bank, and then leveling Beirut.  Where's it end?  The world is watching and nobody is fooled.

That won't help, Donald. They hate one another and essentially want the other off the map. Perhaps offer to rehouse all the Palestinians in Florida and all the Israelis in New York... a bit of separation. Maybe then that region of the ME can find some sort of peace after our various countries have stuck their nose in and made this mess.
