I would call it prostitution.  Selling themselves for money. Some even live in a Walter Mitty fantasy land of being a minor celebrity. 

 

Different strokes for different  folks.The same applies to bar girls. Those who are ok with it do it , others wouldn't  dream of selling themselves no matter what.

What about the beef thats going on with the YouTube live streamers, fellas who live in Pattaya against fellas from the uk who just visit a couple of times a year, all arranging straighteners and doxing each others info online,, its quite entertaining...😂

So many unhinged foreigners in Thailand pass for 'crazy farang' in the sense they mean "white western culture's baffling and different ways"...when we as westerners would simply say "F-ing crazy guy" observing some of the antics that go on.

 

Can you imagine the things westerners do in Thailand being done by a Thai in your home country ?

There is some good content but most of it is annoying and having them come up in my feed are people who lived here for 6 months talking like they are experts in all things Thailand.

Many of them buy everything.   There are several websites where they can buy subscribers, likes, views.  You Tube is aware of this, but enforces nothing.

Also, there are websites where you can check the algorithms.  Seeing how they might go a period of time with nothing, then suddenly 500 subscribers are added to their account in one day because they bought them.  Buying to make themselves feel important. 

It is a joke when you see them with 20,000 subscribers, but when they do a live stream maybe 100 people are watching.  Liars and cheaters the lot of them I actually think they should be banned many exploiting Thai people it is so arrogant and disgusting.

You know how the whole monetizing thing works don't you? In case you dont: Youtubers get a share of click price that advertisers pay. I doubt Google allows clickfraud in huge numbers. A few clicks might be fraud but that does not pay an income. You can buy Subscribers from shady providers but a) subscribers don't matter at all - it's vanity and b) black hat and you would never risk to loose the channel to get a few thousands subscribers.

Chad is actually one of the better ones.  Maybe you dont like the American accent?

I watch a fair few, mainly because I dont watch much normal tv, which nowadays is worse than the You Tubers.

Yes, they walk around like they are superstars, and some of them have the personality of a badly designed wall unit...........but they are pretty harmless.  Mainly, if i see any of them filming, I just laugh at them.  But they are harmless.

Some are arrogant, rude, dickheads........particularly one Aussie in Hua Hin.

They do make me laugh when they promote property for rent or buy.......and they are never getting a cut of the sale or rent price!..............yeh.......we believe you.  And of course the property is always a good deal, and great value for money............when its usually a crock of <deleted>, overpriced and in a crap area.

Some of them are good though..........Paddy Doyle for eg.  He is a bit of a whiner at times.........but he showed us Thailand by visiting all of the provinces, so it helped me in choosing places to visit.

On the other side of the coin, another middle aged skater boy tells us what his plans are, his visions et, etc........like any of us could give a rats arse!  But again......he is harmless, and making ok money........I know because he told us......whats that all about?  Do we give a monkeys about his income or his plans?  I guess we must do.

So yes, i do watch.........these people are harmless enough.........if they think they are famous.......i dont really care.....up to them.
