The US schools are among the best worldwide, and teach all history of all nations. Some just interpret things wrong or didn't pay enough attention in class.

The US schools were among the best in the world. Since Bush, however, the US school system has slipped in the global rankings. I believe number 34 globally in math and around 20th in Science. Very low for a country of its magnitude.

My children study for their high school exams, US curriculum, and subjectsclike history, geography and social are 90% about US history and maximum 10% on world history.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the US school system is not on par with most of Europe or Japan, China.

True, and what is missed here is that America and Russia were allies to crush Nazism, and here we're hoping peace can once again be settled between two countries who, working together, can ensure peace all over Europe. It's the leaders and their egos that ruin things, or fix them.

War history is not taught very much in school. Sorry to burst your bubble. There's only been 101 documentaries and a 1000 websites created about it though.

Russians are not the problem it's Putin. He will be gone soon enough.

His mandated /elected term ended a long time ago,  by his dictate there are  no more elections,  so he is now the unelected "leader".

Unfortunately it is trump undermining Ukrainian democracy with his despicable lies. As you well know Ukraine is currently under Martial Law for obvious security concerns. Following is a quote from a recent address to the Ukrainian people:

I Count on Ukrainian Unity, on Ukrainian Courage, on Our Relations with Partners, on European Unity, and on America’s Pragmatism – Address by the President

It fluctuates in some subjects, but still is ranked at the top. I was born and studied there, and history of the world was taught in every school, and seeing from my grandchildren, still is.Some students worldwide are harder working than some in the US, but the teachers in the US are still also at the top.It might be a higher percentage about US history but that doesn't leave out the rest of the world. I'm here teaching my daughter and girlfriend about what went on in the world throughout time as I was taught all about it in school, and here they know very little about what goes on worldwide unless they go into college, and even then not near as much as back home.Literacy rate isn't all of it as many in the US come from other countries, especially Mexico, where schools are sub par............https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/education-rankings-by-country

No, he won't. Most Russians love Putin, whether forced or not.

I kind of thought you would understand that, seen your extensive knowledge of wars, European geo political issues, and all thing Russian.

Those who follow him are also the problem. Millions believed in Hitler because of his charm and promises, until they saw the real him later. Getting rid of Putin could leave it open for another one like him. Just as N Korea has a psychopath in charge, his sister follows his thinking to the tee, as do others. As in other countries, those elected sometimes don't take office.

I have to agree with the posters who predict a coup in the USA. Trump is moving too fast, saying too many stupid things, and alienating too many allies.

I wouldn't be in the least surprised if someone close to him bumps him off in the near future.

I would because he is popular. The world's richest man likes him.

I am very hopeful that somebody in a position of power removes him, in one form or another. He is Mr. Destruction, and he's not at all what he seems on any level, he is far, far worse.

It's quite easy to see the fotrsteps to civil war now - everything is breaking. In Moscow and Beijing they can't beleive their luck and palaces and parades will be arranged honoring him when he visits. If you think he is drunk on power we ain't see nothing yet. The only plus side is it's constant high intensity drama !

No. Russia undermined democracy by invading Ukraine, plunging the country into turmoil with countless civilians displaced and men enlisted in the army.

Get out Russia and Ukraine will have elections.

The problem there is you need an extensive co-ordinated militray response in which the troops follows orders. MAGA spies will be everywhere and if you move and fail you are done.

Now Donald Trump appears to have reached a fork in the road as he attempts once again to put Washington at the centre of ending the largest land war for generations.
Will he go down in the annals of history, like Wilson, and win a Nobel Peace Prize? Or will Mr Trump instead undo the work of his predecessor and usher in a new Russian empire under the stewardship of Vladimir Putin?

I do not regret my decision to vote for Trump, as a matter of fact I wish I had been more active in promoting Trump over word salad Kamala. Trump is a great negotiator and the rub is just part of the act of this negotiating. MAGA

Proves my point. Wasn't even in office and two attempts.

Doesn't really matter who does it . Disgruntled left or right , gay or straight , black or white or just another nut who wants to be famous.

Just so long as it is done sooner rather than later before he drags America further down the drain.

Trump, with Elon's backing, completes the circle. First North Korea, then Russia, and now China. I said a year ago on this forum he would betray his supporters on China, and now he's trying to do so. He's running up a surrender flag everywhere.

Quote

Advisers such as Howard Lutnick, the commerce secretary; Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent; and billionaire Elon Musk have been encouraging the president, telling him he is in a position to strike a significant agreement.

Crikey it's relentless. I'm not sure that Ukraine's going to have Starlink that much longer, unless Trump lets it continue.
