Under the Ukraine law it is permitted to put on hold elections whilst at war. Actually UK did the same think during WW!! and I assume most other countries.

With the great difference that a chunk of the country wasn't being held by the Nazis.  Do you really think they would have held elections if the Nazis held Scotland, and had annexed Wales?  How do you cast votes under daily bombardment?

DOGE is a great example.  OK in concept, horrible in execution -- firing thousands of people while having no idea what they actually do and then having to recall them when someone tells DOGE that we need nuclear inspectors, the cooked website of alleged savings that's off by billions of dollars, the absurd emails to Federal employees, storing classified data on unclassified servers manned by people without security clearances, gutting the National Park Service, cutting the staff of the agency that regulates Tesla, acting while having no legal authority, et al.

There are smarter ways to get this done -- and either way it's going to be brutal as lots of people are losing their livelihoods -- but ignorance, corruption, and malice are a toxic brew.

Early days. By year end the savings will be massive. Rome wasn't built in a day son. People expect things fixed in 2 weeks. Life isn't like that

Russia has 20%. Hold an election in the west.

Exactly

So how would an election in only part of the country be valid?  Can the U.S. hold an election with only 40 states participating?

How many were fired, and how many had to be recalled?

Nuclear waste inspectors. And how many?

Asking people to list five bullet points of what they did the week before is absurd?

Off billions of savings per who, and out of how much?

How do comparatively few terminations in the national park service constitute gutting it?

Everything they have been doing is (so far) legal and constitutional.

So, getting fired is okay when they are nice about it?

While I read about it, I see no evidence of ignorance, corruption, and malice.

Yes because Russia now own that 20%. It ain't coming back.

I hope so, if they can do it smarter, with less malice, and less corruption.  But I doubt it.

Also, there's no way Trump and Musk remain allies for long.  Two gigantic megalomaniacs can't remain friends, and Musk will get bored soon enough with it.

4 year term. Expecting miracles in a few weeks. Incredible. The 24/7 news cycle has ruined the thinking of modern man.

Trump refused to guarantee security.

Deflecting.

It was a trap, so that Ukraine could involve the US directly. Trump quite rightly refused to be suckered by Zelensky.

If that is supposed to be WW2, you are wrong. They had a coalition government for the war.

Britain had an election during WW1, which Lloyd George won.

Didn't the US have an election during WW2?

Very funny, and from you, expected.....................😂

No it did not.

Elections were held in the UK in July 1945 before the end of the war when the coalition fell apart and Churchill was kicked out.

What total nonsense, they have all necessary clearences, that whole comment just shows exactly how deluded the MSM followers are, oblivious to being lied to. absolutely pathetic

Russia does not own any part of Ukraine.

It has invaded and occupied parts of Ukraine illegally.

Yes, most if not all of us agree Russia invaded Ukraine illegally, I know I do.

So, Zelensky had the backing of the US and most of Europe and is at an effective stalemate after a million dead and wounded and losing a quarter of his population.

What is the way forward?

Do you think morons protesting Vance skiing with his family want to get over there and fight for Ukraine?

Do you think European parents want their kids to go fight in Russia?

What is the way forward if not a peace agreement?

Support Ukraine how? Again, Zelensky had the support of the US and most of Europe and is at an effective stalemate after a million dead and wounded and losing a quarter of his population.

Absolutely no point in debating this further with you.  Like most Trump supporters........you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

However - to rebutt your point.  It is well known that Ukraine suffered from huge corruption - they have been trying to deal with it but just as it is in Thailand, its not something you can stop overnight.  Its also a hangover from the break up of the USSR. Where do you think all the oligarchs came from?  The people of Ukraine made ot clear what they wanted in 2013.

I'd also like to point out to you that defence is not warmongering - Putin should not and must not be rewarded for his expansionist aggression.  If that means war - so be it.  You can take it up the ..... if you like.

Your comment above is a terminological in-exactitude! (a lie to you).

5 July 1945

The 1945 election marked a watershed in British history. The successful Conservative wartime leader, Sir Winston Churchill, was defeated by Clement Attlee's Labour Party.
