Putin is trapped. If he gives up he loses face, if he continues many more die and army gets depleted. Same with Zelensky. The only winner is Trump. He has already won. The left are just too dumb to realise it. Vance knows, he's smart.

Agree in a way. Putin has more than enough cannon fodder. It's the economic hip pocket that Trump will go for. I also think it's reasonable to say Zelenskyy loses more. As it is and as I continue to post more and more Ukrainian land is being captured everyday. The eastern front continues it's westward push and the area of the captured Kursk Oblast is shrinking daily.

IMO the only way to explain Trump's behavior towards Putin and Russia is blackmail.

 

Putin is ex-KGB, and they were expert at setting honey traps, getting people in compromising positions.

 

It must be something that is so embarrassing, criminal or humiliating that even Trump's tarnished reputation would not survive the fallout in America.

Exactly. We may see no deal this year unless Z caves in. Putin won't give an inch. If Z caves in his life is in danger, would have to live in the west. Z is probably looking for an escape plan now.
