You've retired. Why do you spend so much time arguing about Trump?

Well I'd love my children to have as good a life as I've had. If my only goal in life was to enjoy retirement I's rather take an early exit.

So you want wars and open borders.

It keeps me mentally active refuting the crap of anti-MAGA posts.

I beg to differ. Nobody is better suited for the job than Trump.

Which clearly shows the issue.

The first reaction was a very reasonable one, albeit provocative. Many reactions to the provocative part, little on the subject.

I'll make an exception for riclag. I nearly always disagree with his posts and opinions, but he did answer the question.

I'm not retired and like to stay abreast of the opinions of others, but am often amazed at the gullability of many posters here. I like to call out trolls, many of them these days.

Why I didn't have or raise kids (full time) until I retired.  Then I had, have the time & money, to enjoy both.  For me, that did mean retiring early, as starting a family (just 1 kid) at normal retirement age, 60+, wouldn't really be fare to any kid, since most life expectancy of us born in the '50s', is less than 70 yrs old.

Define fun.

And "missery" BTW? Is it "missing things" ? Don't have that, buy I'd love my kids to get as much as I had...

Not sure where you are going with this? Google "fun".  As for your kids, they have it pretty good compared to your generation.  I could make an argument that they have it too easy and that creates missery.  Hey, I don't like Trump as a person but the odds of him creating challenges your kids can't ovrcome is inconsquential.

Are your daughter and son financially independent? Did you assist them financially? How much debt do they have?

I was financially independent of my parents by age 20, and debt-free by age 29. My parents supported me in secondary college.

Now tell me how that is possible in this brave new world of unbridled capitalism, where three individuals in the US have more wealth than the lowest 150 million Americans.

Are you suggesting that three individuals in the US possess significant paper wealth, likely linked to the value of the companies they founded? Is that the reason some people face struggles?

Who is to blame for the cost of education?  I  Aggree, education has become outrageuously expensive and a difficult obstacle to overcome.

Many young are killing it in this new brave world while others are floundering because society can now afford to support their non-productive lifes.  Young now have a choice to do nothing and survive and many do this and live misserable lifes.

Why is education expensive?   Because it's heavily subsidized by the federal government.  I've been calling it the educational industrial complex for years.

A 2017 study from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York found that the average tuition increase associated with expansion of student loans is as much as 60 cents per dollar. That is, more federal aid to students enables colleges to raise tuition more. Salaries rise; bureaucracies expand; more courses — from “History and Analysis of Rock Music” to “Ultimate Frisbee” — are offered; dorms, dining halls, and recreational centers become more lavish. Even with all this spending, employers don’t find that new grads are well prepared for the workplace.

My education was paid for by scholarships.

I owed nothing when I finished my degree.

I usually had a new job lined up before I quit the previous one.

Then again, you had lots of support from your parents.  Sounds like white privilege.

Supply and demand at work.  Odd how some don't grasp that increasing money available for education wouldn't be correlated to the cost of education.  Great for colleges but not so much for students.

Yes. Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg. It's easy enough to look up their individual net worth.

People face struggles because current taxation structures favor such people, whereas low and middle income earners are hit more heavily.

For example, Trump paid $750 tax in 2016 and 2017. Someone on $50,000 pa pays $5900.

Not looking for kudos, just comparing what it was like back then to what it is now.

Your post is not based on facts.  Let's take a look at tax data compiled by the tax foundation.
