Fine them,  jail them here for a year,  then deport and ban.

Ms Sara,   not very smart to get plastered and especially at a full moon party.

A year? 10 to 15 years might discourage their compatriots from doing the same. They are predators. Indian women suffer from lifelong repercussions and stigma from being raped. Lengthy jail sentences are now the norm for convicted rapists in India. Chauvinistic entitled males with very poor social skills choose to abuse women because they lack self control, awareness and empathy.

For the uninitiated, "empathy" means being able to put yourself in someone else's situation.

Simply put, rape is an act of violence and terror. So, how about imagining the humiliation and degradation you would feel if you were violently sexually abused.

And by the way, victim blaming is an integral part of the abusive mentality.

A highly intoxicated person is more vulnerable to crime.  Do you really not agree with this fairly obvious fact?

  • She's probably lucky it was just the two of them.

  • By Indian tradition women might not survive such attack.

not sure why someone gave a sad and confused emoji to my comment.   What I said was absolutely correct,   it was not very wise for her to get plastered at a full moon party.

some folks on here lack common sense.

Self reflection is indeed very important.

Where did I say it was the point of the thread? I just don´t like men who tries to make it minor.

nobody is trying to make anything minor. Merely stating that it could have been worse

Please try a get a grip. Doing that by using the word "lucky" does not fit very well in this case.

maybe it doesn't for you, but as a native english speaker I see no problem.

Get over yourself

Ok, once again we go back to talk about native English speaker, as that would be the norm for the world. This is about a raped German girl, and the rapists are believed to be Indian. In other words, English interpretation does not rule here. We all know what "Lucky" means and what it stands for, and that word should never be used in connection with somebody being raped.

As a side note, if you are such a great native English speaker, you will be assumed to be a native English writer as well. In that case you would have known how to write.

Two Indian nationals were arrested today (March 16) on Koh Phangan after being accused of raping a German woman at a Full Moon Party. The incident occurred during the popular party, held from Thursday night into Friday morning.

Police launched an investigation after reviewing CCTV footage, which led them to Mr. Vijay Dadasaheb, 47, and Mr. Rahul Balasaheb, 40. With the help of various law enforcement divisions, arrest warrants were obtained, and the suspects were taken into custody.

The victim, who identified the pair, reported being too intoxicated to defend herself during the assault. Mr. Dadasaheb reportedly confessed to the crime, while Mr. Balasaheb claimed he only kissed and hugged the woman, releasing her when she resisted.

Both the suspects and the victim underwent DNA testing as part of the investigation. The Indian men now face charges of joint rape by force against a person unable to resist. reported Thai Newsroom.

You guys missing the point. Yes on a scale where one extreme is murder, she should consider herself luckier.

I agree, my point is that the poster said she was lucky they weren't pakistanis....irregardless of race ( which he brought into) rape is rape....no matter what the nationality, no mention of lucky she wasnt murdered. that of course is true, im glad she did not meet that fate.
