Unfortunately we got 36 of those potential bricks, and also the smartest engineers on the planet. But this will be more difficult than adapting/copying the Mirage, which was just a couple of steps above the Spitfire. F35 is science fiction of the seventies. Gen 6 will be Star Wars.

You guys will fly what we tell you to fly.

Boycott the USA. There seems to be no other way.

  • I hear from a friend that Canada is contemplating cancelling their order of F-35s also. Great!

They be much better off with the SU-57.

Only cost $35 million, come with TWO engines, can use afterburners, and can fly in the rain.

Only option they lack is the F-35's infamous submarine capability.

SU-37 is a formidable aircraft. JAS-39 was specifically designed to combat Russian MiGs and SU's.

Let's not forget that JAS-39 predecessor, the J-37  Viggen is the only fighter jet that got a missile lock on an American SR-71. And even earlier the J-35 Draken made the first Cobra maneuver, long before Pugachev, and more for the sake of flight safety as the maneuver has rather limited use in actual combat. Swedish engineers are the best....

But will it operate in Arctic climate, and operate from normal roads, take off in only 500 meters, and have a round time of fully fueling and arming in 10 minutes by only 4 conscripts?

The US is under Israels thumb and does their bidding. ME is a mess because of them.

Now they can buy SU-57s.  Why waste money on F35s?

But will it control as many as 100 unmanned missile armed AI supersonic "wingman".?

Taking off from dirt roads is so 1945.

How can any American even think like that. He cheers for hardship and misery to his own fellow citizens. Thats about as low as you can go.

Yes, it will with ease. Powerful computers and state of the art programming, linked to the state of the art comms facilities. Swedish war tech is light years ahead of you, caveman....

Hmmm, don't think you would be saying that when it's so easy to just bomb/drone/eradicate the extensive airport base facilities required by all the American fighter jets... and the hundreds of mechs and support personnel needed for the 2-3 hours of turn around. Please, stop talking about the things you're totally ignorant off. Go troll somewhere else.

Actually, this is a good thing as it will help to clear the backlog of F-35 orders. So many nations want this superior jet that Lockheed cannot keep up. Better this jet go to countries that support the freedom loving good citizens of the United States that voted for the patriot, Trump.

Sure, that's why the US was bidding as hard as they were to get the orders.

I'm sure we'll make up for it, we're behind on F-35 orders anyway. It's not like the world needs Portugal to fight any battles.

Portugal was important enough to serve in Afghanistan, and it sent 2 of its personnel home in coffins. It didn't have to go and defend the US interests, but the USA invoked Article 5 of the NATO constitution. DId the USA  say thank you?

The F35 deliveries were delayed for a year because of a software update failure. A 100% US based defect.  However, production is now spitting them out  quickly.   I think  the customers are fed up with the US unreliability. Remember that the US  refuses to grant access to the technology and codes that allows the customers to fully maintain and upgrade their aircraft  without U.S. involvement. Now that the USA says it isn't a reliable partner, it is madness to purchase locked equipment from the USA.

Carney Reviews Canada’s Order of F-35 Jets Amid Rift With US

The C$19 billion ($13.2 billion) deal for 88 F-35s to replace Canada’s aging warplane fleet was finalized in 2023, with Lockheed beating out Saab AB and Boeing Co. in the contest. It’s divided into tranches and Canada has made a legal commitment of funds for the first 16 jets.

The deal hasn’t been canceled, but Canada needs to “make sure that the contract in its current form is in the best interests of Canadians and the Canadian Armed Forces,” the spokesman added.

https://archive.ph/6AgNU#selection-1897.0-1923.190

So, 88 fighter jets  minus 16  fighter jets= 72 fighter jets that most likely won't get bought. "hahahahahahahah"

Sure. As Patong noted, are other countries  going to want a fighter jet that the US can turn into a brick anytime it wants to? And given who the current US President is, what was formerly an unthinkable option, is now a not unlikely one. Why would any sane country trust their defense to a nation that no longer behaves like an ally? So, most likely in the future, man former allies will no longer be looking to the US defense industry for all their military needs. And it won't be just about aircraft.

Turkey just signed a contract for 40 Eurofighter Typhoons and Meteor air -to-air missiles no longer interested in F35's.

Trump is losing America not only friends and allies but customers as well.

Trump may well think that America can do withoutcustomers outside America but the companies and workers that produce the goods sure as hell do.

Meanwhile, in the least prosperous country in Western Europe:

Portugal, Western Europe’s least affluent nation, is on the brink of yet another government shake-up, fueled largely by rising discontent over immigration. The country has become a magnet for digital nomads and affluent expatriates, leading to surging living costs and growing support for the far-right.

Maybe they just can't afford them any more?
