Boycott of US goods spreading worldwide poor donald

Effects are always on the margin. Fewer exports mean fewer jobs, which casts a pall over the economy and gets even employed workers to pull back.

Even worse, the attitude toward the US has sunk to its lowest nadir in years. What's more important than exports is funding the 30% of the deficit foreigners currently fund. If they boycott USTs, either rates soar or the Fed has to print 24/7, which is inflationary.

I appreciate MAGAs, like their messiah, are willfully ignorant about economics. I guess when they are all unemployed and begging for SNAP and SSDI, Elon will tell them to go to the devil.

How much do you get for SNAP?

Try and buy American tech products that do not have Chinese components.

Same vibes as when woke corporations boycotted X with much fanfare. Of course, wasn't long before they quietly came slithering back hoping nobody would notice. Neil Young and Spotify too.  Insinc

Yah, you lot seem a lot more ignorant about economics. If you think Central banks will join your boycott and sell their US Treasury bonds you have a screw lose buddy.

But I do appreciate you have to live in a fantasy world now that the great Donald Trump is actually making the real world decisions. Enjoy.

I’m Boycotting all things from Europe.

Not much is made in the US since most of the manufacturing was outsourced in recent decades, mostly to China.

And isn't Trump trying to bring manufacturing back to the US with the tariffs?

World needs to wake the heck up and smell the Corn Flakes that the United States has given the world the most valued products that make our lives easier and more comfortable.

From Ford to Apple, from your California almonds to Florida oranges, so many Karens and soy boys would be in a world of hurt without their essential goods.

This b.s. started with the Canadians?

My mate in Canadastan told me that there was once a denim manufacturing facility in his hometown in the 70s and 80s!

Imagine locally made Levi's-type product. Sure, the raw materials were imported, but labor was local, end result a value-added product for domestic consumption.

Then it all got outsourced to communist China.

Not even sure Levi's is manufactured anywhere in the US these days.

More's the pity.

Where were your dental implants made, if you have them?

What about dental tools used by your dentist?

Will you tell your dentist that you will allow her to use ONLY tools not manufactured in the USA?

What about if there was a medical prosthesis that would save your life?

But then, you realized that it was manufactured in the USA...would you...

REFUSE IT?

My dental implants and bone grafts came from Switzerland.

I don't care what my dentist uses, I did not buy it.

Yes, if there was a medical prosthesis only made in the US, I would avail myself of it.

BUT, you think you are the only guys in the world that can make stuff?

The Chinese make EV's better and cheaper than you do. 40% of the tractors used by American farmers are Kubota.

No, it started with Trump moving to damage the Canadian economy and claiming Canada for the United States. Apparently, you don't get out much.

You do understand that Trump does and says things like that to get in your head ?  We have very little interest in letting the snowbacks into America.
The fact that all the non Americans let him live in your head rent free is an epic lesson in Psychology.

Once again with stupid personal comments.

And who appointed you the spokesperson for Americans? You speak for those people along the northern border whose businesses have suffered. Or for people in the tourist industry. In fact, most Americans disapprove of Trump's nutty war on Canada.

Personal comments like your claim that I'm not an American. You don't know that. And even if you did actually no my nationality, what has that got to do with facts and reason?

Maybe you think Trump isn't waging economic warfare on Canada but Canadians overwhelmingly have a very different opinion. So much so that Trump single-handedly has revived the electoral fortunes of the liberals who not long ago seemed assured of a crushing defeat. Now they're contenders.

Ford started it all. He invented Detroit.

Henry said 'Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right."

Then he went on to make sure all his employees could buy a Ford.

That's GOOD!

Reason: I definitely IDENTIFY as Chinese even though I might be white, a roundeye, born in New England and raised just outside Philly, home of the CHEESESTEAK.

So, I like to see Chinese produce great products.

I fear that Japan is on the downhill, these days, especially in consumer appliance manufacture.

I LIKE to buy Chinese products, especially if the Chinese products are not destined and designed for the cheap American Importers.

It's a shame the boycotters don't understand that the US is not dependent on exports. Only 10% of America's GDP comes from exports.

So even if a boycott managed to eliminate all exports, which is of course nonsense, it would still leave the US with a gigantic 24 trillion GDP.

Good luck guys.

Hahahahahaha

This post is a good example of the MAGAs' incoherence!🙂

- Your MAGA cult leader (the American one) is making a fuss and is disturbing the economy, because he wants other countries to buy more U.S. goods

- and your reply is that the U.S. doesn't need to export! 🤣

I said no such thing in this thread. You should try some remedial reading comprehension. If your feelings are so tender that you chose to get your feelings hurt then maybe the internet isn't for you.  Personally, I don't care where you're from.
Snowbacks have a different opinion because things are fixing to get tough for them. I get that, its going to get tough in America for the short term too.
You seem to think that Americans in general ,care about what happens with your government, nobody I know gives it a second thought. We only want you to take care of yourself

Once again you make a post unbased in fact about my nationality. Are the posters here who support Russia's war against Ukraine Russians? You've got nothing.

And I've never seen a Trump supporter give a rational explanation about why the US plans to wage economic war against Russia. Trump believes that somehow the US is subsidizing them because of the balance of trade. But the fact is that the only reason that it's negative for the USA is because of oil. This is the same oil that Trump pushed so hard for in support of the Keystone 2 pipeline. Take away the oil and the US actually runs a positive trade balance with Canada. I remember when South Park ran an episode with the theme Blame Canada. At the time it was funny because blaming Canada was such an absurd idea. It's still absurd but not so funny.

I was wondering; the Canadian shops taking U.S. booze from the shelves right after Trump announced tariffs... Whatever happened to those goods?

The incoherence is only in your brain. I am of course not saying the US does not need to export, every nation has to export as it makes economic sense. However, in the lunatic world which lefties inhabit where they impose a boycott on the US, and that boycott would work perfectly, the US would still have a GDP of 24 trillion. So it actually would have a very limited effect on the US economy.

Should other countries buy more US goods? Of course they should. But the tariffs are really more concerned about Americans buying more American products.

Your thinking is massively incoherent.

If Trump makes all this fuss it's because he's disturbed by the current relatively small trade deficit.

It's incoherent to claim the U.S. doesn't really need to export because it's only 12% of GDP when your master is angry about a trade deficit which weights peanuts.
